A RESOLUTION REFUSING TO ACCEPT AN AUTOMATIC
RATE ADJUSTMENT FROM GUADALUPE VALLEY ELECTRIC
COOPERATIVE AND REQUIRING A GUADALUPE VALLEY
ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE REPRESENTATIVE TO SHOW
PROOF TO THE CITY FOR THE NEED OF SUCH AN
INCREASE.
WHEREAS, the City of Schertz has received a request from
Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative for a rate increase to all
electric cu~tomers; and
WHEREAS, the City realizes that rising costs of opera-
tion is fair cause for requesting such an increase; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has an obligation to its resi-
dents to understand the justified needs for such an increase; and.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to be informed by
Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative of any justification for the
need of the subject rate adjustment; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, that
the automatic rate adjustment requ~sted by Guadalupe Valley Electric
Cooperative in their letter of April 4, 1977, be refused; and that a
Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative representative present the
City Manager with documentation showing justification for a rate
increase; and that a representative appear at a near future Council
meeting to address the Council on the requested increase.
