AN ORDmANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS
PRovmmG THAT THE CODE OF ORDmANCES OF THE
CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BE AMENDED BY REVISmG
CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE ill, ABANDONED JUNKED
PROPERTY AND PROPERTY FOUND m VIOLA TION OF
ORDmANCE, SECTION 10-51, DEFINITIONS- (4); PRovmmG
A REPEALmG CLAUSE; AND DECLARING EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS:
SECTION I
THAT, Chapter 10, Article III, Section 10-51 of the Code of Ordinances, City of
Schertz, Texas be amended to read as follows:
"Section 10-51, "Definitions"
"(4) Junked Vehicle: A vehicle that is self-propelled and (a) does not have lawfully
attached to it an expired license plate or a valid motor vehicle inspection certificate, and
(b) is wrecked, dismantled or partially dismantled, or discarded, or ( c) is inoperable and
has remained inoperable for more than 72 consecutive hours if the vehicle is on public
property or 30 consecutive days if the vehicle is on private property".
SECTION ill
THAT, all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are
hereby repealed.
SECTION ill
This Ordinance shall be effective from and after its final passage and any
publication required by the City Charter.
