1984H8- REGULATING ABANDONED HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES I ORDINANCE NO. '8 tf - H-'3 AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 75-H-33 BY ADDING SECTION III A REGULATING ABANDONED HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: THAT the following be added to Section III of Ordinance No. 75-H-33: "SECTION III A - Abandoned large household appliances. It sha 11 be be unlawful for any person to cause or permit to be or remain upon any premises under his control in public or semi-public areas that might be accessible to children, any large appliance (freezers, refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, clothes washers, clothes dryers, and other similar appliances). The owner or person in control of any large home appliance on any such property shall not permit same to be discarded, abandoned, or stored as to create a Public Nuisance or Safety Hazard. It shall be the responsibility of any such owner or person in control to remove or have removed any self-closing or self- locking mechanism or door from the appliance to be discarded, abandoned, or stored in public or semi-public areas which might be accessible to children."
