AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS CANVASSING THE RETURNS
AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF A
CHARTER AMENDMENT ELECTION HELD IN SAID
CITY ON THE 13th DAY OF MAY, 2006, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there came to be considered the returns of a Charter
Amendment Election duly and legally held in the City of Schertz, Texas on May
13, 2006; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has reviewed official election returns which
were duly and lawfully made to said City Council by the Guadalupe County
Elections Administrator; and
WHEREAS, from said returns, this City Council affirmatively finds that
there were cast in said election, by resident qualified voters a total of 2,788
votes, of which number the following votes "YES" and "NO" were cast in said
election, to-wit:

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT a plurality of the resident qualified voters of the City of Schertz,
Texas, voting in said election have voted 2,715 for Proposition No.1, and the
City Council hereby determines that said Proposition NO.1 Passed.

THAT a plurality of the resident qualified voters of the City of Schertz,
Texas, voting in said election have voted 2,686 for Proposition No.2, and the
City Council hereby determines that said Proposition NO.2 Passed.
III
THAT a plurality of the resident qualified voters of the City of Schertz,
Texas, voting in said election have voted 2,685 for Proposition No.3, and the
City Council hereby determines that said Proposition NO.3 Passed.

THAT a plurality of the resident qualified voters of the City of Schertz,
Texas, voting in said election have voted 2,658 for Proposition No.4, and the
City Council hereby determines that said Proposition NO.4 Passed.

THAT a plurality of the resident qualified voters of the City of Schertz,
Texas, voting in said election have voted 2,648 for Proposition No.5, and the
City Council hereby determines that said Proposition No.5 Passed.

THAT a plurality of the resident qualified voters of the City of Schertz,
Texas, voting in said election have voted 2,483 for Proposition No.6, and the
City Council hereby determines that said Proposition NO.6 Passed.

THAT a plurality of the resident qualified voters of the City of Schertz,
Texas, voting in said election have voted 2,509 for Proposition No. 33, and the
City Council hereby determines that said Proposition No. 33 Passed.

THAT a plurality of the resident qualified voters of the City of Schertz,
Texas, voting in said election have voted 2,460 for Proposition No. 34, and the
City Council hereby determines that said Proposition No. 34 Passed.
The public importance of this measure constitutes and creates an urgent
necessity to comply with the State Election Law that requires this ordinance be
passed and taken effect as an emergency measure, and shall take effect and be
in force immediately upon and after its passage.
