CITY OF SCHERTZ ~
On this, August 1, 1968, the City Council of the City of
Schertz, Texas, regularly convened at a regular meeting in too City
Hall of the City of Schertz, Texas, with the following members present,
namely:

ABSENT:
None
at which time the following proceedings, among others, were had, to-wit:
Vayor Roy ',f. Richard introduced a proposed ordinance levying
taxes for the year 1968 in and for the City of Schertz, Texas, hereinafter
set forth. The ordinance waS read in full and a ful.l discussion and con-
sideration thereof then ensued.
Alderman Jimmie V. Dunham moved that said ordinance be passed
and adopted. The motion was seconded by Alderman Edgar T. Marx. Notion
carried by the following vote:
AYES: Hayor Roy 1'1. Richard, and Alderman Raymond G. Koym,
Leonard J. Kazben, Halford Koch, Jimmie V. Dunham, and
Edgar T. Narx.

Thereupon, the Mayor announced the ordinance finally passed and adopteg.,
and said ordinance as passed and adopted by the City Council and approved
by the Mayor of the City of Schertz, Texas is as follows:

LEVYING TAXES FOR THE YEAR 1968
"HEREiLS, the City Counci 1 of the City of Schertz,
Texas, has not passed and adopted an ordinance levying annual taxes
for the year 1968, and it now considers it necessary and desirable,
at this time, to pass such ordinance levying ad valorem taxes on all
taxable property in the City of Schertz, for the year 1968, and
"ffiSREAS, this City Council, after due consideration,
finds and determines that to pay the operatin~ expenses of the City
which will accrue for the ensuing year, herein referred to a s the
tax levy for C~neral Fund ourposes, that a tax of and at the rate of
sixty-five cents ($o.6~) on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed
valuation of all taxable property in the City should be levied for
the year 1968; and that to pay the interest on and to create the
necessary sinking fund on the $301,000 CITY OF SCHERTZ S8iER SYSTEM
BONDS, SE3IES 1962, dated June 1, 1962, heretofore authorized by
an ordinance passed and adopted on this day, that a tax of and at
the rate of thirty-five cents ($0.3S') on each one hundred ($100.00) dollars
assessed valuation of all taxa'cle property in the City should be
levied for the year 1968, thereby making a total ad valorem tax
levied for the year 1968, of and at too rate of one do]h.r ($1.00)
on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation of all
taxable property in the City of Schertz, Texas; No"r, ':FEREFDRE,

That, for General Fund purposes of the City of Schertz,
Texas, there shall be, and there is hereby levied, a tax of and at
the rate of sixty-five cents ($0.6S') on each one hundred dollars (~aoo.OO}
assessed valuation of all taxable property in the City of Schertz,
Texas, for the year 1968.

That. fuo pay the interest on and to provide the lB cessary
sinking fund on the issue of $301,000 CITY OF SCHERTZ SElrIER SYSTEM
BONDS, SERIES 1962, dated June 1, 1962, there shall be, and there is
hereby levied on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation
of all taxable property in the City of Schertz, Texas, for the year
1968 a tax of and at the rate of thirty-five cents ($0.3~).

That the total tax hereby levied on each one hundred dollars
($:].00.00) assessed valuation of all taxable property in the City of
Schertz, Texas, for the year 1968 shall be of and at the rate of one
dollar ($J.OO). of which, a tax of and at the rate of sixty-five cents ($0.60;).
aforesaid, shall be and is hereby levied for General Fund p~poses of
said City, and of which, a tax of and at the rate of thirty-five cents ($O.3~)
as aforesaid, shall be and is ooreby levied for interest and sinking
fund purposes, and said taxes hereby levied shall be applied to the
purposes named.
