AN ORDmNANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13, SUBSECTION 13.2.1 of THE
PLUMBING CODE OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS
B~ IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 13, Section 13.2.1 of the Plumbing Code of the
City of Sehertz, Texas is hereby amended to read as follows:
:".Section 13.2.1
Calked Joints:
Calked joints for cast iron bell and spigot
soil pipe shall be firmaly packed with oakum or hemp., and filled
with molten lead not less than 1 inch deep and not to extend
more than 1/8 inch below the rim of the hub. "ln' lieu of tee
above method NEOPRENE gaskets may be used, provided the same
conform to ASTMC 564, as a subsititute for the molten lead
method above described. No paint, varnish, or other coating
shall be permitted on the jointing material until after the
joint has been tested and approved.
