AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE NO. II, SUBSECTION a;
ARTICLE IV SUBSECTION c (3) AND BY AMENDING ARTICLE
VII OF ORDINANCE ~ TO THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
ENTITLED "ELECTRICAL CODE, CITY OF SCHERTZ" TEXAS"

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ;
That Ordinance No.4", "ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ,
TEXAS", be and is hereby amended so that same does and shall here-
after read:

MINIMUM STANDARD FOR WIRING:

a. All ~1ring covered by this Ordinance within the city
shall at least meet the minimum standards of the 1965 edition of ~ni.ij
NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE (hereinafter called the "GOPE~), a standard
approved by the American Standards Association and 'published by the
National Board of Fire Underwriters, or any subsequent revision
thereof, when it shall become effective. A copy of the 1965 Code
and subsequent revisions shall be kept on file by the City Secretary
for reference by interested parties.
IV. LICENSING OF ELECTRICIANS:
Subsection (3) In addition to the above, the Applicant shall
have qualified, been approved, and have a current license to do
electrical wiring in at least one other incorporated municipality or
be approved as a "Willie Wirehand Electrical Contractor", in good
standing by the Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc., or
provide other evidence of his qualifications as directed by the City
Council.

VII. PERMIT & INSPECTION FEES:
a. At the time any permit is issued for a job which will be
inspected by the City's Electrical Inspector, the City Secretary
shall first be paid a Permit and Inspection Fee, according to the
following schedule:
(1) For changes in wiring resulting in the addition of not
aore than one outlet, an amount ,of $1.00.
(2)

amount of $2.00.

b. When a re-inspection is required by the City's Electrical
hspector, the Electrician holding the permit for the jolt shall pay
a re-inspection fee of $2,00 to the City Se8reta~y at the time he
requests taat the re-inspection be .ade. A like re-inspection fee
shall be paid for each re-i~eotion required on the same job.
c. At the tiae any permit is issued for a job which will be
inspected Ity the COoperative's Inspector, the City Secretary shall
first be paid a permit fee of $1.50. Ia8pection fee BDder this
section are to be collected"by the Cooperative.
