AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, COMMISSIONING
AND PROVIDING FOR A ClDTHING AND EXPSNCE ALLOWANCE FOR
VOLtlNTEER FIREMEN OF THE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE
CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Schertz, Texas, will pay an expense and
clothing allowance to the Volunteer Fire Department of the City
of Schertz, Texas, in the amount of $2.50, for each drill attended
by each fireman.
SECTION 2. Such Firemen are hereby commissioned Volunteer Fire-
men of the City of Schertz, Texas.
SECTION". The City o~ Schertz, Texas, will not pay in excess
of twenty-five (25) Firemen per month. Any additional Firemen
must be placed on a waiting list with the City Secretary of the
City of Schertz, Texas.
SECTION ~ The City of Schertz, Texas, will not pay the afore-
said compensation1D any Fireman for more than two (2) fire drills
per month.
SECTION tf. This ordinance will be effective for six (6) months
commencing January 1, 1967, and upon the expiration of such six
months period, the same will be reconsidered by the City Council
of the City of Schertz, Texas.
SECTION 16. This Ordinance is conditioned on the officers of the
Volunteer Fire Department of the City of Schertz, Texas, complying
with the following cOnditions.
a. Prepare a complete list of qualified Volunteer Firemen
as of January 1,~967, and furnish same to the City Secretary.
b.

Furnish a set of appropriate qualifications for each
Volunteer Fireman to be compensated. These qualifications to be
filed with the City Secretary.
c. That a roster of attendance by Firemen by the month be
s uhmi tted to the City Secretary of the Ci ty of Schertz, Texas. 'The
city will then issue a check in the appropriate SUB! to be distribate4 <;'
to the said Firemen.

d. That the Officers of the Fire Department of the City
of Schertz, Texas, furnish the City, and file with the Secre~ary
of such City a complete inventory of all the eqUipment of such

department.
e. That the officers of the Volunteer Fire Depart~t of
the City of Schertz, Texas, furnish a current financia1.statement~/r'6
and budget for the year 1961.
f. That all of the above mentioned items in Section' not
recurring on a monthly basis be complied with within thirty (30)
days after date of this ordinance.
