AN ORDINANCE
ADOPTING THE STANDARD PLUMBING CODE, 1979 EDITION, WITH
1980-1981 REVISIONS, TO INCLUDE ALL FUTURE EDITIONS, RE-
VISIONS AND AMENDMENTS, AS THE PLUMBING CODE OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,AS HEREIN MODIFIED; AND REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; SETTING FEES AND BONDS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
SECTION I
This ordinance is and shall be known. and may be cited, as the Plumbing
Code of the City of Schertz, Texas.
SECTION II
The Standard Plumbing Code. 1979 Edition with 1980-1981 revisions and all
future editions, revisions, amendments and corrections, published by the
Southern Building Code Congress Internation. Inc., two copies of which are
on file with the City Secretary. is hereby adopted and incorporated as the
Plumbing Code of the City of Schertz. Texas. subject to and including by
reference such amendments as herein shall appear.
SECTION II I
A. It shall be the duty of all plumbers who practice their craft
within the City of Schertz. Texas. to give good and sufficient
bond in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) condi-
tioned to conform to the Plumbing Code and other ordinances
or laws of the applicable governing body in reference to
plumbing.
B. All persons identified in A above must possess and display
a current license issued by the State of Texas.
SECTION IV
The Plumbing Code of the City of Schertz shall herewith be amended to
read:

Any person that shall fail to comply with or violate
any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor; and upon conviction thereof. shall
be fined in an amount not to exceed two hundred
dollars ($200.00).
C. SECTION 111. Validity
Every section of this ordinance and every provlslon
of each section is hereby declared to be an individual
section or provision and the holding of any section
or provision of any section to be void. ineffective
or unconstitutional. for any cause whatever. shall not
be deemed to effect any other section or provision
thereby.
D. Appendix D-S (5)
The Board of Adjustments and Appeals created by
Section 8.02 of the Schertz City Charter is hereby
empowered to hear and rule on all appeals filed under
this ordinance."
SECTION V
A. This ordinance and the Standard Plumbing Code. 1979 Edition. with
1979 edition. with 1980 and 1981 revisions, to include all future
editions, revisions. amendments and corrections, adopted herein
by reference. are cumulative of any other ordinance on this subject
dealt with herein and does not repeal any present ordinance unless
this ordinance and Standard Plumbing Code are in direct conflict
therewith; in which connection. this ordinance and the Standard
Plumbing Code shall prevail.
B. The ordinance hereby repealed is Ordinance No. 79-C-3.

There being a quorum present. the meeting was called to order by the
Mayor. and, among other proceedings had were the following:
The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance. which has
been read and considered at the last regular meeting of the City Council on the
19 day of October, 1981 It was determined that the City Secretary had
caused a short synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be published in the
official City newspaper after its consideration at the last regular meeting of
the City Council and prior to this meeting.
Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further.considered by the
Council.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember Howe
and seconded by Counci1member Duffield that said ordinance
be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion to a vote of the
members of the City Council and the ordinance was finally passed and adopted by
the following vote:
