79-H-1 ORDINANCE NO. '79-/"/- I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTIONS 4-35 AND 4-37; PROVIDING THAT DOMESTIC ANIMAL LICENSES SHALL BE ISSUED AT NO CHARGE TO THE OWNER OF SAID ANIMAL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, that SECTION 1. Section 4-35 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Schertz, Texas be amended so that such section shall read as follows: "Section 4-35. Issuance Licenses shall be provided free of charge." SECTI ON 2. Section 4-37 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Schertz, Texas be amened so that such section shall read as follows: "SECTION 4-37. Li cense Tags a. It shall be the duty of the City Assessor/Collector to provide suitable numbered metal license tags for dogs and cats. b. Upon presentation of the rabies vaccination certificate, as required in Section 4-36, the Tax Assessor/Collector shall supply to each applicant a tag which shall be affixed to a collar around the dog's or eat's neck and worn at all times during the currency of such license. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep any dog or cat within the City, unless the license tag is fastened to such animal at all times, as required by this subsection. c. It shall be unlawful for any person to use any license tag upon a dog or cat, except the tag adopted and issued by the City pursuant to this section. d. It shall be the duty of the owner or keeper of any dog or cat to procure a duplicate tag from the Tax Assessor/ Collector in the event that the original tag issued under this section is lost or destroyed. The Tax Assessor/Collector shall issue a duplicate tag upon application of any person who has compl ied with the provisions of this secti:on. II SECTION 3.
