85-E-7 ELECTION ORDINANCE NO.. ?S - E - 'I -' AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE RETURNS AND DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CITY OFFICER ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 6TH DAY OF APRIL 1983, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * WHEREAS, there came on to be considered the returns of a City Council election duly and legally held in the City of Schertz, Texas, on April 6, 1985; and WHEREAS, this City Council has diligently inquired into the poll lists and official election returns which were duly and lawfully made to said City Council by the judge and clerks holding said election; and WHEREAS, from said returns, this City Council hereby finds that there were cast in said election by those voters who were resident qualified electors of the City the following votes: POSITION CANDIDATE VOTES Raymond Stanhope ;} ?O A'll? o b/<g ~ b~? 3 Council member, Place3 Ross Hoover Write-ins Councilman, Place 4 Adolph Aguilar Write-ins Councilman, Place 5 Ken Greenwald Write-ins and; WHEREAS, from the above tabulations and findings, this City Council further finds that there were cast in said election a total of ?{;,3 votes and that for Councilman, Pl ace 3 f<try MODel 5"t-H-.v/'o p-e I rece ived a pl ural ity of votes cast; and in Place 4 IfdoL /1h H-fJ" J "L ffl( , received a plurality of votes cast; and in Place 5 ~N G /(eeN' /6'RtJ received a plurality of votes cast; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: I THAT 1<17(1 AA.oN"r1 'S-fA.pjJ{)i)'C- I II A is hereby duly elected Councilman, Place 3; IJdeJL,oJ 9 (, JLIrIZ {/ is hereby duly elected Councilman, Place 4; and ~A/ GppeL- fI.lfl-td is duly elected Councilman, Place 5, on the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, pursuant to the election duly held within said City on April 6, 1985. II THAT the public importance of this measure constitutes and creates an urgent necessity requiring that this ordinance be passed and take effect as an emergency measure, and shall take effect and be in force immediately upon and after its passage. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this the ,/ 19 '8S -tl, It; day of r ATTEST: (SEAL OF CITY) BALLOT COUNT In accordance with Article 6.09 of the Election Code of the State of Texas, Section (a), I submit herewith the ballot count for both the Absentee voting and the General Election to be held April 6, 1985: 1. Ballots numbered 1 through 29 were used for Absentte voting in the City Secretary's office from March 18 through April 2, 1985. 2. Ballots numbered 30 through 1500 are to be used at the polling place (Community Center) on April 6, 1985 for the Schertz General Officer Election.
