85-D-5 ORDINANCE NO. ?s -D-d AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION j8-l/1./- SECTION 18-32 STOP INTERSECTION: 18-35 YtELD INTERSECTION: 18- 91 PARKING PROHIBITED: 18-96 IMPOUNDMENT OF STANDING OR PARKED VEHICLES, OF SAID CODE. WHEREAS, based on engineering and traffic surveys and investigations, it has been determined that there should be certain amendments to the traffic regulations of the City of Schertz, Texas, as outlined and defined in Chapter 18 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Schertz, Texas; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: SECTION I THAT Section 18-32 STOP INTERSECTION, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Schertz, Texas be amended by adding the following: Through Street Cross or Stop Street FM 3009 Woodland Oaks Drive Dimrock Star Light Lane SECTION II THAT Section 18-35 YIELD INTERSECTION, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Schertz, Texas, be amended by adding the following: Ri9ht-of-~ Street Yield Street Dimrock Witten Hidden Grove Lane Newning Kline Circle Cedar Lane Kline Circle Midwell Hidden Grove Lane Andre SECTION III THAT Section 18-91 - PARKING PROHIBITED, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Schertz, Texas, be amended by adding the following: Street Extent Colony West side from Brooks Avenue to Aviation Avenue and from Maple Drive to Marilyn Drive Dimrock North side from FM 3009 to Star Light Lane SECTION IV THAT Section 18-96 IMPOUNDMENT OF STANDING OR PARKED VEHICLES be revised to read as follows: A. Members of the Police Department are hereby authorized to remove a vehilce from a street, highway, alley, any easement, park or other public place in the City to the nearest garage or other place of safety, or to a garage designated or maintained by the City, under the circumstances hereinafter enumerated: 1. When any vehicle is left unattended where such vehicle constitutes an obstruction to traffic. 2. When a vehicle is so disabled as to constitute an obstruction to traffic and the person in charge of the vehicle is, by reason of physical injury, incapacitated to such an extent as to be unable to provide for its custody or removal. 3. When any vehicle is left unattended upon any easement where such vehicle constitutes or may cause an obstruction for the intended use. 4. When a vehicle is left unattended upon a street and is parked in violation of this Article or any other ordinance of the City. , .. . , SECTION V THAT Section lB-44 CRIME WATCH SIGNS be added to the Code of Ordinances, City of Schertz, Texas to read as follows: Crime Watch Signs are authorized to be placed with speed limit sign and street indentification signs. Neighborhood Crime Watch organization Presidents will submit recommendations for placement of Crime Watch Signs in the neighborhood to the Chief of Police and the Street Superintendent. Upon approval of sign location, the Crime Watch organization will provide the Street Department with the necessary signs and hardware at no cost to the City. Installation of signs will be at no cost to the Crime Watch organization. SECTION VI THAT all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
