AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS
ADOPTING THE YEAR 2007 TAX RATE.
WHEREAS, public hearings were held on September 4,2007 and September 11,2007 to
receive public comment on the proposed tax rate; Now Therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
Section 1.
THAT, the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, does hereby levy or adopt the tax
rate on $100.00 valuation for this city for tax year 2007 as follows:
1. 0.259000 for the purpose of maintenance and operation
2. 0.150000 for the payment of principal and interest on debt
3. 0.409000 total tax rate
Section 2.
THIS TAX RATE WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR
MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX
RATE.
Section 3.
THE TAX RATE WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND
OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $6.60.
Section 4.
THAT, all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict are hereby repealed.
