An ordinance providing that all~electric compan~es,
telephone or telegraph companies and gas companies shall file
with the City Secretary of Schertz, Texas, a list of all rates
charged users of their services, and. providing a penalty of not
less than $1.00 or more than $100.00 for each violation and
defining violations thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
SECTION ONE
That all water companies, telephone and telegraph companies
electric companies and gas companies using the streets and
alleys of the City of Schertz, Texas shall at all times have on
file with the City Secretary of the City of Schertz, Texas, a
schedule
of all rates in effect charged consumers of such gas,

electricity in the City of Schertz, Texas. That all

such electric companies, telephone and telegraph companies gas

SECTION TWO
No change in any such rates shall ever be effective until
approved by the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas.
SECTION THREE
Any person, firm or corporation violating this Ordinance
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be
fined a sum of not less than One ($1.00) Dollar or more than One
Hundred ($100.00) Dollars. Each and every day or fraction of a
day during which this ordinance is violated shall be considered
a separate offense and punishable as such.

SECTION FOUR
If any, section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or
provision of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or held
unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of this
ordinance as a whole, or any part or provision thereof, other
than the part so decided to be invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION FIVE
This ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to be cumu-
lative of all other ordinances of the City of Schertz, Texas on
the matters herein set forth and Shall not operate to repeal any
such ordinance or ordinances, except insofar as the provisions
of any such ordinance or ordinances are inconsiStent or in con-
flict with the provisions of this ordinance, in which instance
or instances, those provisions shall be and are hereby repealed.
SECTION SIX
This ordinance does not, nor do any of the provisions hered
grant and they shall not be construed to grant to any water
telephone or telegraph, electric or gas company a franchise to
use the streets and alleys of the City of Schertz, Texas.
SECTION SEVEN
This ordinance does not nor shall it be construed to affect,
alter, modify or revoke the right of the City Council to fix
rates for and prescribed reasonable rules and regulations for the
operation of water, electric, telephone or telegraph and gas
companies as same as may now or hereafter be provided by law.
This ordinance shall become effective upon passage, approval
