On this, August 4, 1966, the City Council of
the City of Schertz, Texas, regularly convened at a reg-
ular meeting in the City Hall of the City of Schertz,
Texas, with the following members present, namely:
Roy W. Richard
Raymond G. Koym
Maltord Koch
Leonard J. Kazben
and
Mayor
Alderman

at which time the following proceedings, among others,
were had, to-wit:
Mayor Roy W. Richard introduced a proposed
ordinance levying taxes for the year 1966 in and for
the City of Schertz, Texas, hereinafter set forth. The
ordinance was read in full and a full discussion and con-
sideration thereof then ensued.
Alderaan Raymond G. Koym IIIOved that said ordin-
ance be passed and adopted. The II1Otion was se.conded by
Alderman Leonard J. Kazben. Motion carried by the
following vote:
AYES: Mayor Roy W. Richard, and Aldermen Raymend
G. Koym, Leonard J. Bluben and Malford Koch.
HOES: HOlle
Thereupon, the Mayor annouaced the ordinance finally
passed and adopted, and said ordinance as passed and
adopted by the City Council and approved by the Mayor
of the City of Schertz, Texas, is as follows:

WHEREAS" the City Council of the City of Schertz,
Texa., has not passed and adopted an Qrdinance levying

annual taxes for the year 1966, and it now considers it
necessary and desirable, at this time, to ~ss such ordin-
ance levying ad valorem taxes on all taxable property in the
City of Schertz, for the year 1966, and
WHEREAS, this City Council, after due consideration,
finds and determines that to pay the operating expenses of
the City which will accrue for the ensuing year, herein
referred to as the tax levy for General Fund purposes, that
a tax of and at the rate of seventy-five cents ($0.75) on each
one hundred dollars ($lOO.OO) assessed valuation of all ~ax-

able property in the City should be levied for the year 1966;
and that to pay the interest on and to create the necessary
sinking fund on the $301,000 CITY OF SCHERTZ SEWER SYSTFM
BONDS, SERIES 1962, dated June 1, 1962,beretofore authorized
by an ordinance passed and adopted on this day, that a tax
of and at the rate of fifty cents ($0.50) on each one hundred
dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation of all taxable property
in the City should be levied for the year 1966, thereby making
a total ad valorem tax levied for the year 1966, of and at the
rate of one d.Uar twenty five cents ($1.25) on each one
hundred dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation 01' all. taxable
property in the City of SChertz, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:

That, for Gene.ral Fund purposes of the City of
Schertz, Texas, there shall be,and there is aereby levied,

a tax 01' and at the rate of seventy five cents ($0.75) on
each one hundred dollars{tloo.OO) assessed valuation ofaal1
taxable property in the City of Schertz, Texas, for the
year 1966.

That, to pay the interest on and to provide the
necessary sinking fund on the issue of $301,000 CITY OF
SCHERTZ SEWER SYSTEM BONDS, SERIES 1962, dated June 1, 1962,
there shall be, and there is hereby levied on each one hun-
dred dollars ($lOO.OO) assessed valuation of all taxable
property in the City of Schertz, Texas, for the year 1966
a tax of and at the rate of fifty cents {to. 50).

That the total tax hereby levied on each one hun-
dred dollars ($100.00) assessed valuation of all taxable
property in the City of Schertz, Texas, for the year 1966
shall be of and at the rate of one dellarsand twenty five
cents ($1.25), of which, a tax of and at the rate of
seventy five cents ($0.75), as aforesaid, shall be and is
hereby levied for General Fund purposes of said City, and
of which, a tax of and at the rate of fifty cents ($0.50)

and sinking fund purposes, and said taxes hereby levied
shall be applied to the purposes named.

going is a true and correct copy of an ordinance and the
minutes pertaining to its adoption, which ordinance was duly
and legally passed and adopted by the City COU1!l.cil of the
City of Schertz, and approved by the Mayor of the City of
Schertz, Texas, at a regular meeting held on August 4, 1966,
at the regular meeting place 1n the City Hall in the City
of Schertz, Texas, and that same appears of record in
Book 2 of the Minutes of said City COU1!l.cil; and that I
am the lawful possessor and custodian of such books and
records of the City of Schertz, Texa~.
