2008D47-School Zones-Schertz - ORDINANCE NO. 08-D-47 AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 86-118, MAXIMUM LIMITS IN SCHOOL ZONES; AND PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS: SECTION I THAT, Section 86-118 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Schertz, Texas be amended to add the following: "Section 86-118, Maximum Limits In School Zones" Street Extent Speed Limit Schertz Parkway From 700 feet South of Elbel Road to 150 feet North of Buffalo Drive, 20 MPH SECTION II - 1. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. 2. This Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its final passage. First reading approved on the 23rd day of September 2008. TSAC was briefed by Ms. Bell, HOA president, regarding this issue and a motion was made for Larry Dublin, City of Schertz Engineer, to perform a traffic study at the intersection of Cherry Tree Dr. and Turnabout Loop and send his findings to City Council for approval if warranted. Please see the results of the attached traffic study and engineer design exhibit.
