ORDINANCE NO. 08-D-05
AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SCHERTZ, TEXAS PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BE AMENDED BY REVISING
SECTION 86-11S, MAXIMUM LIMITS ON SPECIFIC STREETS; AND
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received the traffic and engineering survey attached
hereto as Exhibit A
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
SECTION 1
Section 86-115 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Schertz, Texas shall be amended to
add the following:
"Section 86-115, "Maximum limits on specific streets"
(a) As a result of a traffic and engineering survey conducted by the traffic engineer,
the maximum reasonable, safe and prudent speed limits have been found and are hereby declared
to be in force on the following streets or portions thereof, and any speed in excess of the
prescribed limits shall be prima facie evidence that the speed is not reasonable and prudent and
that it is unlawful

SECTION 2
1. All ordinances and resolutions, or parts thereof, in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
2. This Ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its final passage.
