A recent warrant analysis of this intersection shows that the intersection
does meet the Pedestrian Traffic Signal Warrant. The current budget for
the traffic signalization along with professional engineering services will
be $350,000, which is available in the Public Works FY 25-26 budget.

The City will allow U-turns at the intersection of Fairlawn Avenue and
the IH-35 frontage road. There is no signage or ordinance preventing
this maneuver.
Staff evaluated the intersection. Visibility is sufficient and the raised
median is setback far enough from the intersection to allow most
vehicles to make this maneuver without entering the path of
oncoming traffic.

h. IH 35 FRONTAGE SB AT SCHERTZ PARKWAY
Staff received a complaint from a resident about the
Southbound frontage road at IH 35 and Schertz Parkway.
The pavement markings and signage are unclear and
has caused near misses. Staff have relayed this concern
to TxDOT. As of today, TxDOT has not made any revisions.
