The Transportation Safety Advisory Commission (TSAC) will convene on
Thursday, September 1, 2005
6:30pm in the Municipal Complex Conference Room, 1400 Schertz Parkway,
Schertz, Texas. The Agenda is as follows:
1. Call to Order
2. Introduction of TSAC members
3. Review and Approval of Minutes: August 4, 2005
4. Hearing of Residents
5. Presentation of letter from Schertz Public Works. August 4, 2005 ref:
TX DOT Signs within City of Schertz limits. Discussion and possible
action.
6. Letter mailed to Ms. Laurie Singer with response and action taken by
Public Works. Can we close this issue?
Discussion only.
7. Discussion and possible action on the School Crossing at Schertz
Parkway and intersection of Savannah Dr. and Woodland Oaks Dr.
Introduce Mr. Wade Hawkins, SCUISD, Director of Facilities and
Construction. He has the responsibility for Safety issues within the
School District. Could School open south exit to vehicular traffic?
Possibility of a TSAC letter re: the above subject.
8. Discussion and possible action for the relocation of Corbett M.S.
flashing safety light by TX DOT, and the required paper work for City
Manager.
9. Response to questioning by Mrs. Juarez re: so many incomplete
sidewalks through out Northcliffe subdivision.
10. Discussion and possible action on IH-35 and Wiederstein Road
Crossing, poor drainage as submitted to TSAC for July 7, 2005
action.
11. Discuss and possible action re: the necessity for an emergency
evacuation route in case of hazardous accident. Is this the
responsibility of TSAC?
12. Discuss and possible action regarding the on -going Union Pacific
reducing their trains speed limits. This effort is our attempt at
preventing a train accident occurring in our city. Letter to Texas R.R.
Commission.
13. Discussion only with forwarding original transactions with Union
Pacific to Senator Henry Cuellar's Constituent Services Rep. Mark A.
Gonzales.
14. General discussion items by Commission Members for next month's
agenda for items for Public Works Director information.
15. Adjournment. Next meeting October 6, 2005
