AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE BOUNDARY
LINES OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BY THE
.ANNEXATION OF THREE (3) CERTAIN TRACTS OR
PARCELS OF LAND CONTAINING 1fl0 ACRES, 80.183
ACRES AND 7.101 ACRES, RESPECTIVELY, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
.WHEREAS, the hereinafter described tracts of land
adjoin the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas and
do not exceed one (1) mile in width; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the question of whether
said land should be annexed to and become a part of the City.
of Schertz, Texas was duly called and notice thereof given and
said public hearing has been had, all in accordance with law;
WHEREAS, by the passage of this ordinance annexation
of said territory will have been brought to completion within
ninety (g0) days of the institution of annexation proceedings;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz,
Texas is of the opinion and finds that such territory is suit -
able for municipal purposes and that. it is in the best interest
of the City of Schertz, Texas and the citizens and inhabitants
thereof that said territory be annexed to and made a part of
said City; NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHER^1 Z, TEXAS:

That the following described territory containing
l00 acres of land lying adjacent to and adjoining the City
of Schertz, Texas be, and the same is hereby added and an-
~exed to the City of Schertz, Texas and said territory shall
hereinafter be included v~ -i thin the boundary limits of said
City and the various points contiguous to the area described
are hereby altered and amended so as to include said land and
territory within the corporate limits of the City of Schertz,
Texas; said land being more particularly described by metes

BEGINNING at the most. southerly corner of Lone Oak Subdivision,
said point being on the northeast line of Bubbling Springs Road
and also being the northeast corner of a sewage treatment plant

by deed dated October 4, 1962, and recorded in Vol. 351, pages 224
thru 226, of the Guadalupe County Deed Records;

annexed area described in ordinance No. 254 of the City of
Schertz and recorded in Volume 195, page 107 of the Deed '
Records of Guadalupe County, Texas.
THENCE: N 30° 00' W, a distance of 2519.97 feet to a point on
the northline of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad
Right-of-way.
THENCE: N 54° 13' E, along the north Right-of-way of the
Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, a distance of
4392.85 feet to a point, said point-being one mile
radially from the beginning point and present City
.limits line.
THENCE: S 35° 47' E, a distance of 500.00 feet to a point.
THENCE: 5 54° 13' W, along a line 500.00 feet from and parallel
to the north line of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad
Right-of-way, a distance of 3940.94 feet to a point:
THENCE: S 30° 00' E, along a line 500.00 feet from and parallel
to the existing City limits line (and its extension),
a distance of 2068.05 feet to a point.

That the territory so described and the areas so
annexed shall hereafter be a part of the City of Schertz,
Texas and all taxable property situated therein shall here -
after bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City
of Schertz, Texas and the inhabitants thereof shall be en-
titled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citi-
zens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions
and regulations of the City of Schertz, Texas.

That the boundary limits of the City of Schertz,
Texas are hereby re-defined so as to include the above de-
scribed tracts of-land and from and after this date shall-
be defined and described as follows, to-wit:

The public importance of this measure and the need
to insure the orderly growth of the City of Schertz, Texas
constitute and create an urgent public necessity requiring
that this ordinance be passed and take effect as an emergency
measure, and this ordinance is accordingly passed as an emer-
gency measure, and shall take effect and be in force immediately
upon and after its passage.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this the 28th day of

at a special meeting at the regular meeting place in the Muni-
cipal Building of said City in the City of Schertz, Texas, which
,meeting was at all times open to the public, and at which meet.-

There being a quorum present, the meeting was called
to .order by the Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were .

The .Mayor introduced the following captioned ordin-
an~e which was read in full by the City Secretary. Councilman
moved that said ordinance be considered by
the Council as an emergency. measure. Said motion was seconded
by Councilman ~ tiJhereupon said motion was fu11y
discussed and considered. The Mayor put the motion to consider
said ordinance as an emergency measure to the members of the
City Council and said motion was approved and adopted by the
following vote :

NOES: None

ordinance as an emergency measure. Thereupon it was moved by
Councilman and seconded by Councilman
that said ordinance be finally passed
and adopted. The Mayor put the motion to the members of the
City Council for vote and the ordinance was finally adopted
by the following vote:
