AN ORDINANCE '
PROVIDING FOR TIIE EXTENSION OF TIIE BOUNDARY
LINES ~F T}IE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BY THE
ANNEXATION OF TWO (2) CERTAIN TRACTS OR
PARCELS OF LAND CONTAINING 60.606 ACRES,
AND 25.271 ACRES, RESPECTIVELY.

WHEREAS, the hereinafter described tracts of land
adjoin the corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas and
do not exceed one (1)~mile in width; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the question of whether
said land should be annexed to and uecome a part of the City of
Schertz, Texas was duly called and notice thereof given and said
public hearing has been had, all in accordance with law; and
• WHEREAS, by th:e passage of this ordinance annexation
of said territory will have been brought to completion within
ninety (90) days of the institution of annexation proceedings;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz,
Texas is of the opinion and finds that such territory is suit-
able for municipal purposes and that it is in the best interest
of the City of Schertz, Texas and the citizens and inhabitants
thereof that said territory be annexed to and made a part of
said City; NOW, THEREFORE
t, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TE~:AS:

That the, following described territory containing
60.606 acres of land lying adjacent to and adjoining the City
of Schertz, Texas be, and the same is hereby added and annexed
to the City of Scher~rz, Texas and said territory shall herein-
after be included within the boundary limits of said City and
the various points contiguous to the area described are
hereby altered and amended so as to include said land and
territory within the corporate limits of the City of
' Schertz, Texas; said land being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
FIELD NOTES FOR 60.606 ACRES OUT OF COMAL COUNTY, TEXAS:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the north line of the h1-K-T Railroad
right-of-way and the northeast line of F.h1. Jtoad 1337;
Thence with the north line of the M-K-T Railroad north 54 degrees 13' E
3,710.69 feet to the PC of a curve to the right, said curve having an
intersection angle of 12 degrees 27' 40" and a radius of 1,452.62 feet;
Thence with said curve to the. right~315.93 feet to the PT of said curve;
Thence continuing with the north line of the M-K-T Railroad
N G6 dec,~rees 41' E 1,798.73 feet to tJ~e point of beginning and the southwest
corner of the herein cieschibed ~l:rac%; said point also being a point on the
present Schertz City Limit line;

tract;
Thence S 66 degrees 41' W 5,280 Feet to a point on the.r~~resent Schertz City

Thence with the present Schertz City Limit line N 23 dec-;rees 19' W 500 feet to
the poini:~of beginning and containing 60.606 acres more~or less.

of the City of Schertz, Texas.; said land being more parti=
cularly described by metes and bounds. as follows:

EEGINNING at the point of intersection of the north l~in~=' of Wiederstein Road
projected and the east line of F.M. Road 1103 for the northwest corner of
the herein described tract;
Thence with the~east line of F.M. Road 1103 S 29 degrees 30' 00" E 686.37 feet
to the northeast corner of this tract;
• Thence S 17 degrees 15' 29" bJ 2,063.42 feet to a point nn the present
Schertz City Limit line;
Thence with the present Schertz City Limit line N 51 degrees 33' 00" W
536.26 feet to a point for the southwest corner of t{~is~tract;

That the territory so described and the areas so
annexed shall hereafter be a part of the City of Schertz,
Texas and all taxable property situated therein shall here-
after bear its pro rata part of the taxes levied by the City
of Schertz, Texas and the inhabitants thereof shall be en-
titled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens
and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and
regulations of the. City of Schertz, Texas.
IV
That the boundary limits of the City of Schertz,
Texas are hereby~re-defined so as to include the above de-
scribed tracts of land and from and after this date shall
be defined and described.. as follows, to-wit:

October, 1974.

On this, the 1st day of October, 1974, at 7:00 o'clock
P.M., the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened
at a regular meeting at the regular meeting place in the Muni-
cipal Building in the City of Schertz, Texas, pursuant to due
call .and notice to all of the members of said City Council,~which
meeting was at all times open to the public, and at which meeting
the following members were present, to-wit:

DONALD J. SEEBA ALDERMAN
TOM KOOLE ALDERMAN
ROBERT E. SCHWARTZ ALDERMAN
MRS. BOBBIE L. KOCH ALDERWOMAN

MRS. JUNE G.'KRAUSE CITY SECRETARY
DENNY L. ARNOLD CITY MANAGER
There being a quorum present, the meeting was called
to order by the Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were
the following:
The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ordin-
ance, which has been read and considered at the last regular
meeting of the City Council on the 17th day of September, 1974,
It was determined that the City Secretary had caused a short
synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be published in the offi-
cial City newspaper after its consideration at the last regular
meeting of the City Council and prior to this meeting.
Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further
considered by the Council.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember
and seconded by Councilmember ~ that said
ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the
motion to a wte of the members of the City Council and the ord-
inance was finally passed and adopted by the following vote:
