AN ORDINANCE
SETTING A TIME, DATE AND PLACE FOR A`PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE PROPOSID APIIVEXATION OF ONE CER-
TAIN TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY
83.51 ACRES OUT OF GUADALUPE AND COMAL COUNTIES
BY THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE CITY SECRETARY TO PUBLISH
NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING AND DECLARING
AN EMERGE[~CY
WHEREAS., the following described-tract of land adjoining the corpor-
ate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas and does not exceed one (1) mile
in width; and,
WfiEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas is of the
opinion that such territory is suitable and desirable for municipal purposes
and that it is in the best interest of the City of Schertz, Texas and the
citizens and inhabitants thereof that said tract of land be annexed to and
made a part of said City: and
Wf~REAS., the City of Schertz, Texas intends to annex said land by
ordinance and in cx~mpliance with the MUNICIPAL ANNEXATION ACT (Chapter 160
ACTS of the 58th Legislature, Regular Session, 1963, as amended), codified
as Article 970a, Texas Revised Civil Statutes, at a scheduled public hear-
ing as hereinafter provided in order to furnish an opportunity for all
interested citizens to be heard on such proposed annexation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:

That the City Council will hold a public hearing on the 29th
day of Jul 1975 at-7:00 o'clock P.M. in the Municipal
Building of the City of Schertz, Texas in order to furnish all interested
persons a right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation of the
following described tracts of land, to-wit:

The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause
notice of such public hearing to be published one time in a newspaper
having a general circulation in the City of Schertz, Texas, and in the
territory proposed to be annexed not more than twenty (20) days nor
less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearing.
III
The public importance of this measure constitutes and creates
an urgent public necessity requiring-that this ordinance be passed
and take effect as an emergency measure, and shall take effect and be
in force immediately upon and after its passage.

On this, the 8th day of July, 1975, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. the City
Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened at a regular meeting at
the regular meeting place in the Municipal Building of said City iri the
City of Schertz, Texas, which meeting was at all times open to the public,
and at which meeting the following members were present. to-wit:

NELL G. FUNK ALDERWOMAN
DONALD J. SEEBA ALDERMAN
WALTER F. SCHNEIDER ALDERMAN
ID. L. SHARPE ALDERMAN

DENNY L. ARNOLD CITY MANAGER
There being a quor~n present, the meeting was called to order by
the Mayor; and, aimng other proceedings had were the following:
The Mayor introduced the following captioned ordinance which was
read in full by the City Manager. Councilmember n Q...
moved that said ordinance be oonsidered by the Council as an e/(~~mergency
measure, which motion was seconded by Councilm~nber ~c.e~f'~ ,
Whereupon said motion was fully discussed and considered. The Mayor put
the motion to consider said ordinance as an emergency measure to the
members of the City Council and said motion was approved and adopted
by the following vote:
AYES: All members shown present voted "AYE",
NAYS: NONE
The Mayor then introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance as
an emergency measure. Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember
and seconded by Councilmember~~~„„o.~s~.Co1y~_
that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the
motion to a vote of the members of the City Council and the ordinance
was finally passed and adopted by the following vote:
