AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE BOUNDARY
LINES OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS BY THE
ANNEXATION OF TWO CERTAIN TRACTS OR PARCELS
OF LAND CONTAINING 15.5 ACRES AND,A19.9 ACRES
RESPECTIVELY OUT OF GUADALUPE COUNTY
WHEREAS, the hereinafter described tracts of-land adjoins the
corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas and do not exceed one (1)
mile in width; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing on the question of whether said land
should be annexed to and become a part of the City of Schertz, Texas was
duly called and notice thereof given and said public hearing has been had,
all in accordance with law; and
WHEREAS, by the passage of this ordinance annexation of said
territory will have been brought to completion within ninety (90) days of
the institution of annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas is of
the opinion and finds that such territory is suitable for municipal purposes
and that it is in the best interest of the City of Schertz, Texas and the
citizens and inhabitants thereof that said territory be annexed to and made
a part of said City; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
I
That the following described territory containing 15.5 acres
of land lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Schertz., Texas be, and the
same is hereby added and annexed to the City of Schertz, Texas and said
territory shall hereinafter be included within the boundary limits of said
City and the various points contiguous to the area described are hereby altered
and amended so as to include said land and territory within the corporate limits
of the City of Schertz, Texas; said land being more particularly described by
metes and bounds as follows:
II
That the following described territory containing 19.9 acres
of land lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Schertz, Texas be, and
the same is hereby added and annexed to the City of Schertz, Texas and said
territory shall hereinafter be included within the boundary limits of said
City and the various points contiguous to the area described are hereby
altered and amended so as to include said land and territory within the
corporate limits of the City of Schertz, Texas; said land being more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
III
That the territory so described and the areas so annexed
shall hereafter be a part of the City of Schertz,--Texas and all taxable
property situated therein shall hereafter bear its pro rata part of the
taxes levied by the City of Schertz, Texas and the inhabitants thereof
shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens
and shall be bound by-the acts,. ordinances, resolutions and regulations of
the City of Schertz, Texas.
IV
That the boundary limits of the City of Schertz, Texas are
hereby re-defined so as to include the above described tracts of land
and from and after this date shall be defined and described as follows,
to-wit:
corner of Lone Oak Subdivision and said point being on the northeast line of
Bubbling Springs road and also being the northeast corner of a sewage treatment
plant site conveyed by Helmuth Dietz, et ux, to the City of Schertz by deed
dated October 4, 1962, and recorded in Volume 351, pages 224 thru 226, of the
Guadalupe County Deed Records;
THENCE with the existing City Timi•ts line N 600 06' E 585.00 feet to a point;
THENCE with the existing City limits line, N 29° 54' W 655 feet to a point;
THENCE with the existing City limits line, N 60° 06' S 571.30 feet to a point;
THENCE S 300 15' E approximately 350 feet being the centerline of the Cibolo
Creek;
THENCE in a southerly direction-with the meanderings of the Cibolo Creek 1,800
feet more or less to a point of intersection of the Cibolo Creek and the
existn~ng City limits of the, City of Schertz;
THENCE N 30o W approximately 850 feet along existing City limits to the point
of beginning and containing 19.9 acres more or less.
Texas, said. point being S 30° E 50 feet from a concrete monument set in the
intersection of the Southeast right-of-way of FM 78 and the Northeast line of
' the Milton Burow tract, said concrete monument described in Vol. 364, page 360
of the Guadalupe County deed records;
THENCE N 63° E approximately 570 feet to a point;
THENCE S 28° 39' E 550.20 feet to an angle point;
THENCE S 88° 46' E 185.3 feet to an angle point;
THENCE S 42° 49' E 476.0 feet to an angle point;
THENCE S 45° 45' E 354.0 feet to an angle point;
THENCE S 23° 12' E.290.9 feet to an angle point;
THENCE S 12° 29' E 208.9 feet to an angle point;
THENCE S 13° 50' E 366.14 feet to an angle point;
THENCE:S 13° 49' E 156.7 feet to an angle point;
THENCE S 21° Ol' E 204.8 feet to an angle point;
THENCE S 54° 39' W approximately 200 feet to a point intersecting the
centerline of the Cibolo Creek;
THENCE in a northwesterly direction following the meanders of the said Cibolo
Creek approximately 2,400 feet to a point, being the intersection of the
certerline of the Cibolo Creek and an extension of the Northeast line of
the aforementioned Milton Burow tract;
THENCE N 30° W along the Portheast line of the Milton Burow Tract approximately
550 feet to a concrete monument;
THENCE N 79° 31' E 392.9 feet to a concrete monument set in the Southwest
right-of-way line of a 30 foot road easement;'
THENCE N 29° 49' W 265.32 feet along siad 30 foot road easement to a point;
THENCE S 62° 37' W 372.38 feet to a point, said point being in the Northeast
property line of the aforementioned Milton Burow tract;
THENCE N 30° W 200 feet to the point of beginning and containing 15.50 acres
more or less.

CITY OF SCHERTZ ~
On-this, the 2nd day of September, 1975, at 7:00 o'clock P.M.
the City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened at a regular meet-
ing at the regular meeting place in the Municipal Building in the City of
Schertz, Texas, pursuant to due call and notice to all of the members of said
City Council, which meeting was at all times open to the public, and at
which meeting. the following members were present, to-wit:
ROBERT C. BUEKER MAYOR
NELL G. FUNK ALDERWOMAN
DONALD J. SEEBA ALDERMAN
WALTER F. SCHNEIDER ALDERMAN
ED L. SHARPE ALDERMAN
GAIL HYATT ALDERWOMAN
AND
DENNY L. ARNOLD CITY MANAGER
JUNE G. KRAUSE CITY SECRETARY
There being a quorum presnet, the meeting was called to order
by the Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were the following:
The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance,
which has been read and considered at the last regular meeting of the City
Council on the 19th day of August, 1975. It was determined that the City
Secretary ::had caused a short synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be
published in the official City newspaper after its consideration at the last
regular meeting of the City Council and prior to this meeting.
Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further considered
by the Council.
Thereupon it was moved by Cou cilmember
and seconded by Councilmember
that said ordinance be finally passed and adopted. The Mayor put the motion
to a vote of the members of the City Council and the ordinance was finally
passed and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Mrs. Funk, Mr. Seeba, Mr. Schneider, Mr. Sharpe and Mrs. Hyatt.
NAYS: None
.Whereupon, Councilmember Seeba
moved that said ordinance be further considered at the next regular meeting
of the City Council to be held on the 2nd day of September, 1975, which
motion was seconded by Councilmember Schneider
and which carried by the following vote:
AYES: Mr. Seeba, ~9r. Schneider and Mr. Sharpe
NAYS: None
