07-13-1977-jt mtg PUBLIC HEARING
The Planning and Zoning Commission and the Schertz City Council held a joint
Public Hearing at 7:00 PM, July 13, 1977, in the Council Chambers, 401 Oak St.
Schertz, Texas.

Acting Vice Chairman Aguilar called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM. Mr.
Aguilar stated that-the purpose of the Public Hearing was to consider a
request by Mr. John Schaefer to rezone Lot 5, Block 5; and Lot 23, Block 7,
Village 1 on Live Oak Road, from R-2 Single Family Dwelling to General
Business (GB). He asked if there were any residents present, who wanted to
voice their comments concerning the rezoning.
The Commission recognized Mr. Arnold Miller, 808 Colony Drive. Mr. Miller
did not voice any objection to the rezoning request. The Commission then
recognized Mr. Kenneth Joy, a property owner in the vicinity of the above
mentioned lots. Mr. Joy voiced no objection to the rezoning. He further
stated "I have no feelings either way, I'm impartial to the rezoning request".
There were no other residents to be heard.
Acting Vice Chairman Aguilar recognized Mr. Rod Corvo, represent Mr. Schaefer.
Mr. Corvo restated his previous statement that there is nothing definitely
planned for these lots at this time. Betty Wise questioned Mr. Corvo con-
cerning why Mr. Schaefer desired to have this property rezoned at this time.
Mr. Corvo explained that Mr. Schaefer believed that his property was already
zoned General Business. There were no other questions by any of the Com-
mission members.
Mayor Bueker stated that he saw no reason to rezone the property at this time
since no specific inquiry to use the property had been made.
There being no further comments or discussion from anyone present, the Public
Hearing was adjourned at 7:20 PM July. 13, 1977.
