#2 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wise at 7:30 P.M.
#3 NO MEETING WAS HELD ON September 22, 1976 due to a lack of quorum.
#4 A proposed security ordinance, amending Ordinance Number 74-G=16
was discussed. Chief Schoonover explained the ordinance, and the
City's need for a strong security ordinance.
The Commission discussed this proposal ordinance at some length,
and after discussion, the .following action took place:
The Commission recommended that the Security Code .
Ordinance be disapproved as an ordinance or as an
ammendment to Ordinance 74-C-16.
Mr. Stanhope made amotion that Planning & Zoning Commission
recommend to the City Council, that steps be taken to review
the City Building Code 74-C-16 and possibly revise the code
to provide additional controls pertaining to locking devices
on exterior doors and windows.
Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion and all members were in agree-
ment.
#5 The Commission also discussed the possibility of purchasing an
additional 3 acres of land from the Catholic Church, on Live Oak
Road, for possible future use fora Municipal Building, ie,
adjoining proposed recreational center.
In the opinion of the Commission this 3 acres meets the general criteria
and requirements, but is the least desirable of choices of locations.
The Commission feels that before any final agreement is reached with the
Church, further study should be made concerning price and availability of
land at the other locations.
