09-16-1976 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
SEPTEMBER 16, 1976
The Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Schertz convened in Special
Session Thursday, September 16, 1976 at 7:30 P.M.
#1 MEMBERS PRESENT:
Johnny Wise - Chairman
Earl Sawyer - Secretary
John Linebarger
Ray Stanhope
City Staff Representative - Robert Jacobson
#2 The metting was called to order by Chairman Wise at 7:30 P.M.
#3 The Minutes of the meeting of August 25, 1976 were read and approved.
PJo meeting was held on September 8, 1976 due to a lack of quorum.
#4 PC-11 - A curbcut request by P1r. Quadalupe Del Toro at 816-818 Main
Street was discussed. City Staff recommended that Mr. Del Toro's
existing curb cuts be extended to add 16 feet to his existing west
side cut; for a total 30 feet and add 10 feet to his existing east
side cut for a total of 29 feet. This would keep Mr. Del Toro's
request well within the specifications of Ordinance No. 255.
It was pointed out to Mr. Del Toro that his original request, with
drawings attached (see staff records) would require him to get a
variance to Ordinance No. 255.
Mr. Linebarger made a motion that the P&Z Commission recommend to
the City Council that they grant h1r. Del Roro's request for curb
cut, that is to add 14 feet to his existing cut on the west side
of his property for a total of 29 feet; and to add 11 feet to his
existing cut on the east side of his property for a total of 30
feet. These two cuts to be separated by a 20 foot stretch of
curbing to be suitably marked as a no parking zone.
This motion was seconded by Mr. Stanhope, and all members are in
agreement.
#5 The Commission received a letter of resignation from Mr. Sam Carey,
and recommends to the Council that they accept Mr. Carey's resig-
nation.
The Commission requests that the City Manager send a letter of
thanks to Mr. Carey for his service to the City. The Commission
will consider a replacement for Mr. Carey at its next regular
meeting.
#6 There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting
was adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
Earl Sawyer, Secretary
