MINUTES
September 3, 2009
The Transportation Safety Advisory Commission (TSAC) convened on September 3,
2009 at 5:30 pm in the Council Chamber Conference Room, Building # 4, 1400 Schertz
Parkway, Schertz, Texas.
CALL TO ORDER AT 5:30 P.M.

HEARING OF RESIDENTS
Chairman Bores recognized the following:
Mr. Brockman, 1000 Elbel, Apt #411 who was present to ask about: What is the name of
the low water crossing coming off Main Street? East Aviation Blvd is the name.
1. Minutes -Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of September
3, 2009.
Larry Franklin made a motion to approve the September 3, 2009 minutes. Seconded by Bill
Bowers. -All Ayes- Motion Carried

2. Mesa Oak Subdivision -Neighbors concerns about the amount of traffic going through on
Oak Valley to avoid the stop light on Live Oak Road and Schertz Parkway to get to Schertz
pkwy. -Public Works crews will put up barricades closing the road to through traffic for a
month. After which the road may be closed permanently o through traffic. Item closed.
3. Forest Ridge Subdivision -Blue Forest Dr -Neighbors concerns about the speeding on
Blue Forest Drive coming onto Wiederstein Road. Staff will research to see if there is a speed
ordinance for this drive, item placed on next month TSAC agenda.
4. Val Verde Subdivision -Replacing existing yield signs to stop signs as outline in the exhibit
(Engineering/Public Works Dept.). Item Closed.
5. Greenfield Village Subdivision -Replacing existing yield signs to stop signs as outline in
the exhibit (Engineering/Public Works Dept.). Item Closed.
6. Woodland Oaks Subdivision -Replacing existing yield signs to stop signs as outline in the
exhibit (Engineering/Public Works Dept.). Item Closed.
7. Ashley Oaks Subdivision -Replacing existing yield signs to stop signs as outline in the
exhibit (Engineering/Public Works Dept.). Item Closed.
8. Greenshire Subdivision -Replacing existing yield signs to stop signs as outline in the
exhibit (Engineering/Public Works Dept.). Item Closed.
9. Ashley Oak Subdivision -Boxer Pass -Replacing existing yield signs to stop signs as

10. City Council Action -Councilman Scagliola briefed Commission on actions taken at City
Council meetings.
Council Meeting on October 6, 2009has been cancelled for National Night
11. City Engineer Report Larry Dublin -City Engineer to brief Commission on status on the
following projects.
• The City of Schertz is accepting Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for
"ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES"
• Rural Roads Phase #1 Project (Lower Seguin Road, Boenig, and North Greytown)
awarded to Wagner Materials & Construction.
• TXDOT -Cell phone use prohibited in school zones while school is in session

ADJOURNMENT: Max Hernandez made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by
Tracy Bean. -All Ayes- Motion Carried.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:10 p.m. The next meeting will be on October 1, 2009 at 5:30 p.m.
in the City Council Chambers Conference Room.
