CALL TO ORDER: Mary McAllister called the meeting to order at 7pm.
HEARING OF RESIDENTS: Mr. Brockman reported that he enjoyed the anniversary

REGULAR AGENDA
1. Minutes -Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of
August 2, 2010.
There were no minutes available to be approved.
2. Treasurer's Report -Consideration and/or action approving the August 2010
Treasurer's Report
August bookstore sales were $2,041.63. This was a record for regular bookstore
sales.
Ruth Tienor moved to accept the August 2010 treasurer's report. Pattie Lovelady
seconded. Motion passed. August 2010 Treasurer's report was approved.
3. Librarians' Report -Librarians will report on the following items:
• August 2010 Library usage statistics
Circulation: 37,474 Patrons: 22,388 New Cards: 695 Renewals: 316
Computer usage: 5,471 Self check items: 13,903 Storytime: None Lego
Program 34
Year to date circulations have increased 44% from last year Number of
people who visited the library is up 32%.
Program attendance 9700.
• August 2010 Library fundraising statistics: $1, 678, 664.56
School has started and the library is busy.

Weekends are once again the busiest time.
New Children's program clerk has been hired. Callie Barbee is talented and
doing an awesome job.
Tom Elright is still out taking care of his father.
Laurie Schindler has been hired as a temporary shelver to take Tom's place.
Staff had several issues involving family illness, thus we lost Julio Machado
and Daisy Gonzalez.
October 1st will be the beginning of the new fiscal year and Lizzi Blase will
be our Adult Services Librarian.
Anniversary parry was well attended and everyone had a good time.
4. Bookstore Committee Report -Committee will report on the following items:
• General operation of the bookstore during the month of August
Book Sale October 22"d and 23`d. Miscellaneous items will be for sale
Set up will be on Friday morning and there will be one hour of cloean up on
Monday morning.
Ruth Tienor made a motion the Board buy a book cart for June Hughes.
Juan Thorn seconded and the motion carried. Juan Thorn suggested that a
plaque be attached to the cart with the words "June's Cart".
5. Agenda Items: Ruth Tienor requested authority for the bookstore to spend up to
$50.00.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
6. Items by the Library Board Members -Briefing and discussion on the following
items:
• Mary McAllister will not be at October meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
Margaret Riley moved to adjourn and Pattie Lovelady seconded. Motion carried.
