AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS,
AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE (ORDINANCE NO. 79-S-15)
OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS; CHANGING THE CLASSIFI-
CATION OF A 54.25 ACRE TRACT OF LAND FROM PRE-DEVELOP-
MENT (PD) TO GENERAL BUSINESS (GB); AND REFLECTING SAID
CHANGE ON CERTAIN ZONING MAPS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE
II AND III OF SAID ZONING ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the property owner has specifically requested the'
rezoning of the 54.25 acre tract from Pre-Development (PO) to General
Business (GB); and
WHEREAS, the procedures outlined in Article XIX, Sections
3 and 4 have been complied with; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has voted favor-
ably to recommend that the zoning change be approved and has reported
same to the City Secretary; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
THAT the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Schertz, Texas,
(Ordinance No. 79-S-15, is hereby amended in the following manner:
A. That 54.25 acres out of the Malpaz Survey, located along
FM 1518, and being in the general location across from the
Schertz City Park as abutts FM 1518, is changed from the
classification of Pre-Development (PD) and is zoned General
Business (GB).
B. The Zoning District Maps, described and referenced in
Article II, Sections 3.1 and 3.2 of the City of Schertz
Zoning Ordinance No. 79-S-15, shall be changed to reflect
the above amendment.

City Council of the City of Schertz, Texas, convened at a regular meeting at the
regular meeting place in the Municipal Building in the City of Schertz, Texas,
pursuant to due call ~nd notice to all of the members of said City Council,
which meeting was at all times open to the public, and at which meeting the
following members were present, to-wit:

There being a quorum present, the meeting was called to order by the
Mayor, and, among other proceedings had were the following:
The Mayor introduced the hereinafter set forth ordinance, which has
been read and considered at the last regular meeting of the City Council on the
5 day of October, 1981 It was determined that the City Secretary had
caused a short synopsis of said proposed ordinance to be published in the
official City newspaper after its consideration at the last regular meeting of
the City Council and prior to this meeting.
Whereupon said ordinance was discussed and further considered by the
Counci 1.
Thereupon it was moved by Councilmember Sawyer
and seconded by Council member Lawler that said ordinance
be finally passed and adopted. The 'Mayor put the motion to a vote of the
members of the City Council and the ordinance was finally passed and adopted by
the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Howe, Taylor, Duffield, Sawyer and Lawler
NAYS: None
