CALL TO ORDER: Mary McAllister called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
HEARING OF RESIDENTS: Mr. Brockman had a question regarding computer classes
being advertised,
REGULAR AGENDA
1. Miuutes - Co~asideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of
February 7, 2011.
Ruth Tienor moved to accept the December minutes. Margaret Riley seconded.
December 6, 2010 minutes approved.
Roger Sturdy moved to accept the February minutes. Laura Wilson seconded.
February 7, 2011 minutes approved.
2. Treasurer's Report -Consideration and/or action approving the January 2011
Treasurer's Report
February bookstore sales were $1,515.1$ plus $439.00 For the sidewalk sale for a
total of $1,955.0$.
Shonale Burke moved to accept the January 2011 treasurer's report. Carol Cyr
seconded. Motion passed. January 2011 Treasurer's report was approved.
3. Librarians' Report -Librarians will report on the following items:
• February 201- Library usage statistics
Circulation: 2$,$44 Patrons; 18,513 New Cards: 346 Renewals: 366
Computer usage: 4,270 ILLS: 170 Self check items: 10,527

Many patrons are using the e-reader download program. Since it started in
December, a-book checkout was about 900 or so and there are many on
reserve.
• February 2011 Library fundraising statistic:
There was $175.00 in donations in February.
4. Bookstore Committee Report -Committee will report on the following items:
• General operation of the bookstore during the month of February 2011
Discussion on a new system to call in subs other than just contacting Ruth.
There is a need for an updated volunteer contact list.
There have been complaints that the 50-cent wall is too small
There is now a book drop in the bookstore for donations.
There needs to be a volunteer memo regarding the library getting first
choice on all books donated to the bookstore.
Bookstore Committee was asked to meet regarding pricing, procedures and
guidelines by May 1 and provide report at next regular board meeting after
May 1.
• Report on February 25-26f~' book sale
Mary McAllister thanked everybody who helped with the book sale. There
was a discussion on how to better control and keep track of books going in
and out and on keeping track of the vintage books
The Herald messed up the date of the book sale. Need to use Facebook for
next book sale.
The sign permit from the City was only good for one day. Need to look into
getting permit for additional days.
DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION
5. Operating Supplies -Discussion and possible action on purchasing of office and
operating supplies for the bookstore.

Discussion regarding miscellaneous supplies needed for bookstore, such as Ziploc
bags, label maker tape, badge holders and other miscellaneous items.
Sandy Keiser made a motion to buy bookstore supplies up to $100. Pattie Lovelady
seconded. Motion carried.
Patti Dilworth discussed possibly being able to get a donation of plastic bags.
6. Volunteer Appreciation -Update on plans for the volunteer appreciation
luncheon.
A room has been reserved at La Cabana restaurant for April 16~' from 11:30 to 2:30
for the volunteer appreciation luncheon. Pattie Lovelady and Gail Douglas will go
and pick menu. Invitations will be going out soon.
7. Library Purchase -Update on status of purchasing solar filmiscreening for library
windows on front of library.
The solar screens for the library will be taken care of by the City.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
8. Items by the Library Board Members -- Briefing and discussion on the following
items:
• Correspondence received by the Secretary
Thank you note from Mrs. Kuempel for memorial donation.
• Announcements by Library Board Members-
AALS will be on Friday. PLA will be in April.
Email from City Secretary's office regarding term end dates. There will be
a discussion on streamlining the process for all City Boards and
Commissions. End dates will be in the month of November and alternate
years. Library Advisory Bylaws will need to be updated. Policy committee
needs to meet to review the bylaws and update to reflec# these changes.
