Minutes -Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of June
6, 2011.
Margaret Riley moved to accept the June minutes. Carol Cyr seconded. June 6,
2011 minutes approved.
Treasurer's Report -Consideration and/or action approving the May 2 and June
6, 2011 Treasurer's Report
June bookstore sales were $2,164.38
July bookstore sales were $1,790.57
Patti Lovelady moved to accept the May and June 2011 treasurer's reports. Sonia
Samora seconded. Motion carried. May and June 2011 Treasurer's report were
approved.
The ten thousand dollars that was approved to purchase the children's books for the
library should be reflected in the July Treasurer's report.
Librarians' Report -Librarians will report on the following items:
• June and July 2011- Library usage statistics

• June and July 2011 Library programs and program statistics:
1,151 people attended Library programs in the month of June.
Discussion had on the great success of the Summer Reading Club.
• June and July 2011 Library fundraising statistic: -
Mr. James Todd who had previously bought a computer stand for 88`x'
birthday recently passed away. His family asked that donations be made to
the Schertz Library.
Piggy banks continue to be turned in.
4. Bookstore Committee Report -Committee will report on the following items:
• General operation of the bookstore during the months of June and July 2011
The bookstore ran smoothly with all of the vacation days taken by the
various volunteers and board members.
All vacancies have been filled.
Book and magazine donations continue to pour in and have been
overwhelming. The next book sale is August 19°i.
• August 19-20, 201 book sale
Discussion had on the signage for the book sale. The sale will be advertised
on Facebook and on the webpage.
• Requests for Ideas on alternative ways to sell books, i. e. online sales
Different consignment options were discussed. The pros and cons were also
discussed regarding online sales such as Craigslist and EBAY. Juan Thorn
will look into these options futrther.

5. Fourth of July Update -Discussion on parade float
The library participated in the Fourth of July parade. Discussion had regarding the
library float. No action taken.

6. Solar Panel Update -Discussion on solar panel project
Discussion had on solar panel project. No action taken.
7. Items by the Library Board Members -Briefing and discussion on the following

• Announcements by Library Board Members -None.
• Call for Items to be included in next Agenda
