Dear Mr. Baldwin:
Although the San Antonio Metropolitan Area's air quality is considered
good in comparison to other Texas cities, San Antonio is near
nonattainment for ozone levels. Nonattainment is when ozone levels
exceed federal health standards. San Antonio is the largest city in
the united states that remains in attainment. Because of this, .there
is a growing desire to monitor and control the amount of emissions
being dispersed into the air.
The Alamo Area Air Coalition is composed of business, government, and
community leaders in the San Antonio - Bexar County regional area who
are concerned with air quality. Enclosed please find information
regarding the activities available in this region, as well as public
education literature that explains the significance of good air
quality.
Also enclosed is a resolution for your city to commit and participate
in the continued attainment of good air quality in the San Antonio
region. As a member of the Alamo Area Air Coalition, you will be
receiving faxes concerning Ozone Action Days and other information
about air quality. Please return the resolution either by fax or mail
to our office.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact our office at
210-225-5201 or fax at 210-225-?937.
