Chairman Weirtz called the meeting to order at 6:30 with a quorum present.
Voting members present: Merle BehneTom DeKunder, Lou Foehj•kolb, Barbara Hall,
Gail Hyatt, Debbie Krause, Cynthia Palmer, Pete Perez, Dean Weirtz.
Associate members present: Bob Crawford, Dickie Day.
City Representative: Hal Baldwin.

Discussion and /or Action .Items
1. MinY-tes - Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the
minutes of the regular meeting of October 27, 2011. A motion to approve the
minutes was made by Debbie Krause and seconded by Pete Perez. The
motion carried unanimously.
2. Fund Expenditures -Consideration and/or action regarding the
submission of member expense voucher. Chairman Weirtz submitted a
request for reimbursement in the amount of $1,175.b2 for plaques, stationery
supplies and equipment. ~1 motion to approve the voucher submission was
made by Cynthia Palmer and seconded by Debbie Krause. The motion carried
by a unanimous vote.
Treasurer's Report: Consideration and/or action regarding the book
sales activity during the third quarter 201 I and other fiscal matters. Treasurer
Lau Foeln•kolb reported that ten books have been sold since the beginning of
the fiscal year (October 2011) and a total of S42 books have been sold since
publication.
4. Committee Annual Report: Consideration and or action regarding the
publication of the Committee Amiual Report for 201 1. Chairman Weirtz
submitted a copy of a draft Aimual Report of Committee activity for calendar
year 2011. A motion was made by Merle Bel~ne and seconded by Gail Hyatt
to accept the report for submission to the Schertz City Council. The motion
passed unanimously.
5. r'ommit±ec Annu2l Ilesourec lnventaay --Consideration and/or action regarding
the conclusion and publication of the animal Committee resotu•ces inventory for
2011. Chairman Weirtz submitted a report of Committee Resources Inventory for
approval by the members. The inventory was conducted by Chairman Weirtz and
Earl Sawyer. Prior to approval, a discussion led to a specific request. 6y
Gail Hyatt to participate in fiihire inventories. Chairman Weirtz ~velcorned her
suggestion and promised to notify her of the amiua! mandated activity. A motion
to accept the annual inventory report was made by Lou Foehrl<olb and seconded
6y Debbie Krause. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
6. Newsletter and Remembrances Winter 2012 Special Edition Articles:
Consideration andlor action regarding the publication of the Waiter 2012
Newsletter and REA~IEA~IBRANCES Special Edition Articles. Chairman Weirtz
presented copies of hvo articles for publication. A motion was made by Tom
DeKunder and seconded by Gail Hyatt to accept the articles for
publication. The motion passed by unanimous vote.
7. 1~Totninations for H15tOric Laudinark Designations -Consideration and/or
actions regarding nominations for historic landmark designations. Chairman
Weirtz presented the Committee a nomination package for consideration of
Landmark Property designation. The property was the Hiller-t Homestead at
11975 Lower Seguin Road. A motion avas made by Gail Hyatt and seconded by
Debbie Krause to approve the nomination, The motion passed unanimously,
Discussion and voting on a second designated property on Church Street was
fabled.
8. City r'Iistorical li~iarkcr Activity -- Consideration and/or actions
regarding City of Schertz historic marker placement. activity. Chairman Weirtz
advised that City of Schertz markers have been placed at the Fr°iesejilialu~
Pecan Farm, the Schwab Blacksmith Shop, the Alomo Scheuzen Vereiri
Shooting; Range, the Sclrertz Family Homestead and the Schaefer Family
Homestead. The Corral Settlement and Saint Joseph Cemetery still await Texas
State issued markers.
9. 1!'outinations Rnd Election of Committee Officers for 2012 -Consideration
andlor actions regarding nominations and election of Conunittee offrcers for 20 ! 2.
Chairman Weirtz opened the meeting for nominations for Conunittee officer
positions for calendar year 2012. Motion was made by Pete Perez
and seconded by Tom DeKunder to accept reinstatement of existing officers to
serve in 2012. The motion passed unanimously.

Subcommittee Reports -Discussion only
- Ce~iiete~-,y~: Gail Hyatt reported that effort continues to identify the locations of
deceased kno«rn to be buried in celiieterie5. One more location has
been identified but dozens have yet to be properly located.
Gail Hyatt is Looking into the legal requirements for renaming one of
the cemeteries so that it can be distinguished from others with
similar Haines. Robbie Fuqua has volunteered to serve on the
cemetery subcommittee.

- Outreach:
Chairman ~~Veirtz met with Cl~aniber of Commerce and was pleased
to see historical inforiiiation added to the visitor's guide.
Chairman Weirtz reported that the Corral Settlement group is
awaiting awards from the state and looking to resrore some older
places.

Chairman Weirtz reported on the installation of Air Force and
Scher#z exhibits in these locations.

Lou Foelirkolb shared a translation of the articles printed in the local
magazine of our French sister city. Thanks to his wife for the translation.
Chairman Wei~~tz reviewed the committees continued efforts and objectives to
preserve, protect and share the historyltradition of our beloved city in the year
ahead.
