Board Members present: Brian James, Executive Director Development Services, Councilman David
Scagliola, George Logan, Parks, Recreation & Community Services Director, Dr. Brooke Knowlton,
DVM, and Sharma Roman, Animal Services Manager.
Staff present: Phil Gaudreau, City of Schertz Owners Representative and Sandy Bryant, Senior
Administrative Assistant.
Call to order: The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Shanna Roman at 12:45pm.

There were no residents to be heard.
Regular Agenda•
Introductions:
Introductions — Dr. Brooke Knowlton, the new veterinarian and Mr. Phil Gaudreau, owner's
representative for the City of Schertz were introduced.
Discussion and possible action:
Agenda Item No 1 Animal Services Adoption Facilfty Update Mr. Phil Gaudreau gave the Committee
an update on the progress with the new Animal Adoption Facility. Mr. Gaudreau noted the new facility
will be located in the Community Circle along with the Dog Park and the Skate Park. He provided a copy
of the proposed internal and external views of the facility and says they hope to have it completed in early
2014. The old facility will still be used for large animals and additional space as needed. No action was
taken on this item.
Agenda Item No. 2. Animal Services Volunteer Update Ms. Sharma Roman has made some changes in
working with volunteers and feels it is a highly successful partnership. Discussion only item.
Agenda Item No. 3... Announcements by Advisory Committee Chairman and members There were no
announcements by Advisory Committee Chairman and members.
Agenda Item No. 4 Announcements by City, Staff. The next meeting will be Wednesday, December 19,
2012. Location is to be determined.
