AN ORDINANCE
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS, CANVASS-
ING THE RECOUNT OF THE MAYORAL VOTES AS ESTABLISHED BY THE
DULY APPOINTED RECOUNT COMMITTEE AND DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE CITY MAYORAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 5TH
DAY OF APRIL, 1980 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, there came on to be considered the returns of a City
Officer Election duly and legally held in the City of Schertz, Texas, on
April 5, 1980; and
WHEREAS, a request for recount of the ballots of the City Officer's
Election of April 5, 1980, cast in the Mayoral contest has been officially
presented; and
WHEREAS, the duly appointed Recount Committee has assiduously
inquired into and recounted the official election returns of the Mayoral
race; and
WHEREAS, from said returns, this City Council hereby finds that
there were cast in said election by those voters who were resident qualified
electors of the City of Schertz, the following votes:

WHEREAS, from the above tabulations and findings, this City Council

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:

is hereby duly elected Mayor of the ity of Schertz, Texas, pursuant to the
election duly held within,said City on April 5, 1980.

The public importance of this measure constitutes and creates an
urgent public necessity requiring that this ordinance be passed and take
effect as an emergency measure ,and shall take effect and be in force i mmedi ate ly
upon and after its passage.
