April 3, 2017
Members Present: Ruth Tienor, Laura Wilson, Carol Cyr, Patti Dilworth, Patti
Paulson, Margaret Riley, Neota Brady, Sandy Keiser, Joanne Ward, Dawn Figueras,
Bobbie Boyce, Cindy Vigil, and Shonale Burke. Also Melissa Uhlhorn, Library
Director.

CALL TO ORDER: Patti Dilworth called the meeting to order at 6:28 p.m.
REGULAR AGENDA:
1. Minutes: Consideration and /or action regarding the approval of the minutes
of the March 6, 2017 meeting.
Ruth Tienor moved to accept the March minutes with minor corrections. Patti
Paulson seconded the motion. Motion carried. The March 6, 2017 minutes were
approved with minor correction.
2. Treasurer's Reports: Consideration and /or action regarding the approval of
February 2017 Treasurer's Report.
The February Treasurer's Report reflected income of $1,343.20 and expenses of
$1,305.27 leaving a balance of $16,360.71 in the cash account. Patti Paulson moved
to accept the February 2017 Treasurer's Report as presented. Patti Dilworth
seconded the motion. The motion carried. The February 2017 Treasurer's report
was approved.
3. Librarian's Report: Librarian will report on the following items:

Library Operation: - Melissa Uhlhorn stated the sign -post in recognition of Mary
McAllister has been installed and now just needs landscaping around it. The library
will be closed Easter Sunday April 10. Melissa will attend the Schertz Volunteer
Fair on April 13th and welcomes others if available. The next Council on the Go will
be April 18th on the North side of Schertz. It's anticipated the Cibolo Tollway will be
a subject of discussion. There is a Special Council meeting tonight to discuss tollway
as well. Staffing is being adjusted to accommodate long -term staff member who is
having health concerns.
4. Bookstore Report: Committee reported on the following items:
Book Sale:
-Sale was March 31 -April 1. Thanks to volunteers.
- $1,480.55 was raised from sales. Goodwill coming to pick up books left after sale.
General Operations:
- Bookstore will be closed April ISth, Saturday before Easter.
- Donations continue to come in.
5. Committees of Committees Advisory Board (CCAB) Update: Shonale
Burke
Committee received a presentation from Code Enforcement and we discussed issues
enforcement. Next month Code Enforcement will provide information about repeat
offenders and areas of the community with most issues.
DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION:
6. Staff Appreciation: Consideration and /or action regarding plans for National
Library Week April 9 -15.
Patti Dilworth passed a sign -up sheet and members will provide salad and dessert
April 11 -13th of that week. Melissa explained that cutlery and tableware is already
available in the library breakroom.

Ruth Tienor moved to adjourn the meeting. Patti Paulson seconded the motion. The
motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:04 p.m. Next month's meeting will
