Members Present: Sonia Samora, Laura Wilson, Neota Brady, Ruth Tienor, Bobbie
Boyce, Sandy Keiser, Roger Sturdy, Shonale Burke, Gail Douglas, and Melissa
Uhlhorn.

CALL TO ORDER: Sonia Samora called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m...
REGULAR AGENDA:
1. Minutes —Consideration and /or action regarding the approval of the minutes of
May 7, 2012.
Ruth Tienor moved to accept the April minutes as written. Roger Sturdy
seconded. May 7, 2012 minutes approved.
2. Treasurer's Report — Consideration and /or action regarding the approval of the
April, May, and June 2012 Treasurer's Report.
Cash account ending balance June 30, 2012 was $22,723.32.
Investment account ending balance June 30, 2012 was $30,742.49.
Laura Wilson stated the July book sales of $2,898.73 were the all -time highest
monthly sales. The amount includes $530.73 from the July book sale.
Bobbi Boyce moved to accept the Treasurer's Reports. Neota Brady seconded.
April, May, and June 2012 Treasurer's Reports were approved.
3. Librarian's Report — Librarians will report on the following items:
• June 2012 — Library Usage Statistics:
Overall circulation: 43,791 Patrons: 27,280 New Cards: 675
Renewals: 827 Self -Check Usage: 19,136
# People attending Programs: 2,903 Volunteer Hours: 785
Computer usage: 4,062
• July 2012 — Library Usage Statistics:
Overall circulation: 31,096 Patrons: 26,096 New Cards: 503
Renewals: 649 Self -Check Usage: 16,862
# People attending Programs: 1,521 Volunteer Hours: 616.5
Computer usage: 4,341
• Summer Programs and Statistics:
Lizzy and April presented summer program results. During the 7 -week
children's session, there were 101 programs and 2,508 attendees. 369,000
minutes were read and 25 teens volunteered. For the adult Reading
Olympics, there were 37 programs and 181 adults signed up. Both of the
librarians thanked the Library Advisory Board members for supporting their
efforts.
There was a science trailer at the library this past week. 108 people attended
during the 4 -hour program.
• Library Fundraising: Nothing to report.
4. Bookstore Committee Report: Committee will report on the following items:
• The next book sale is scheduled for October 26th and 27th. The meeting room
has been reserved for October 25 -27, 2012. Sonia Samora will request
assistance from Boy Scouts again to haul boxes of books the Thursday night
before and again on Saturday afternoon. The Boy Scouts were a BIG help for
the July book sale.
• Game disks have been stolen from their jacket covers. A work - around hasa
been established so the disk aren't put into the covers until the sale is
complete.
• The storage unit of books donated by a patron has been sorted and almost
emptied.
• A red cart for book storage was requested at a cost of approximately $300.
Ruth Tienor moved for the purchase. Laura Wilson seconded. The purchase
of a red cart for approximately $300 was approved.
DISCUSSION & POSSIBLE ACTION:
5. Hal Baldwin Memorial — We will continue to explore ideas and possibly do
something in early 2013. By tabling the issue, members can develop ideas and
propose a budget.
6. Library Float — We didn't put a float in the 4th of July parade. Do we want to do
one for the Festival of Angels? There may be other volunteer opportunities. Food
booth? Face painting? This action was tabled until next meeting.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
• Correspondence received - none.
• Announcements by Library Board members — none were reported.
• Call for items to be included on next agenda — 4t" Quarter expenditures, October
book sale, Festival of Angels participation, Open House for Volunteerism

Ruth Tienor moved to adjourn and Shonale Burke seconded. Motion carried. Meeting
adjourned at 8:16 p.m.
