MINUTES OF MEETING
Thursday, May 10, 2018 —11:30 a.m.
1. Call to Order and Establish a Quorum — A quorum was present.
Mayor Daly called the meeting to order as a quorum was present.
2. Welcome and Introductions
Mayor Daly welcomed everyone in attendance and those present stood and introduced
themselves.
3. Approval of the minutes of the workshop meeting of April 5, 2018 and minutes of the
regular meeting of April 12, 2018.
Mayor Dennis made a motion seconded by Mayor Boyle to approve the minutes of the
workshop meeting of April 5, 2018 and minutes of the regular meeting of April 12, 2018. The
vote was unanimous. Motion Passed.
4. Approval of the Current Treasurer's Reports for NEP.
Mayor Dennis made a motion seconded by Mayor Boyle to accept the current
treasurers report. The vote was unanimous. Motion Passed.
5. Approval of Resolution No. NEP 01 -02 -2018 appointing Mr. Scott Wayman to the
Bicycle Mobility Authority Board. Mayor Thompson made a motion seconded by
Mayor Williams to approve Resolution No. NEP 0102 -2018 appointing Scott Wayman
to the Bicycle Mobility Authority Board. The vote was unanimous. Motion Passed.
6. Discussion regarding an appointment to the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning
Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
Mayor Daly stated that Mr. Blake Partridge City of Universal City who is our current
TAC representative needs help and would like to see if there is another individual who
will step up and assist. Mayor Daly stated that since they did not have a Mayors
Workshop meeting we will discuss the appointment of an alternative to the TAC
committee, so if you are interested in serving get with your Mayor and we will discuss
this at our June Workshop meeting.

Item A: Kevin Hadas reminded everyone of the upcoming Golf Tournament at TPC
Tuesday May 15, 2018. Mr. Hadas stated that they had a great luncheon yesterday.
Lastly, which is not a Chamber event, but tonight at the Bluebonnet Palace there will
be a meet the candidates who are in a runoff, come out tonight and give your support.
It will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Item B: Maggie Titterington from The Chamber stated that they are starting the work
on their 2019 Visitors Guide and Business Directory, anyone is free to advertise, go to
Chamber.info and there will be tab to place you ad. The Visitors Guide will be
distributed and direct mailed to over 23,000 residents in the area as well as over 1000
businesses. The Visitors Guide will also be placed in the City Halls of Schertz, Selma
and Cibolo.
Maggie stated that in October they have two (2) major events (1) Golf Classic
benefitting their DECCA Programs for Clemens and Steel High Schools — October 5,
2018 at the Bandit Golf Club in New Braunfels, contact Robin Thompson at The
Chamber if you are interested in playing; (2) RE /MAX Skylight Balloon Fest — River
City, City Community Church, October 26 -28, 2018 — the event is expanding to 20
balloons, over 70 vendors, petting zoo and other events. If you are interested in
participating, you can go to SkylightBalloonFest.com for registration and more
information.
Maggie also stated that River City Church will be celebrating their 20th Anniversary
Celebration Saturday May 19th bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs and join
them at 5:00 p.m. for a Polo Exhibition match followed by a family BBQ.
Item C: Nigel Davies stated that Spring/Summer is PCS time at Randolph, the 12th
Flying Training Wing will be seeing a new Commander if you can on Friday May 18,
2018 come see Col. Joel Carey change of command ceremony.
Item D: Assistant City Manager Jordan Matney on behalf of City Manager Scott
Wayman stated on May 23, 2018 5 -7p.m. Walk and Bike Night at the San Antonio
Wheelman Park.
Item E: Mr. Keven Hadas who stated everything seems to be going smoothly and
congratulated the City of Schertz for their FM 1518 project. He stated at the last
meeting there was some spirited debate regarding the $20 Million they have from the
train from Austin to San Antonio account, VIA wanted it for a study, he objected as he
wanted it to be used for concrete, and possibly used for projects along the 35 corridor.
Again, he stated it was a good debate. He stated the MPO is good now and functioning
well.

9. Establish a Date and Time of the next NEP Mayor's Workshop — City of Garden
Ridge to host. (June 7, 2018)
Mayor Thompson with City of Garden Ridge agreed to host.
10. Establish a Date and Time of Next Northeast Partnership for Economic
Development Meeting — June 14, 2018.

Door Prizes were provided by the City of Garden Ridge and distributed from the
members cards who were picked. June door prizes will be sponsored by the City of Live
Oak as City of Kirby will not be available.
11. Items of Interest by Members.
Mayor Daly recognized Mayor Boyle City of Cibolo who announced next Wednesday,
May 16, 2018 9:30 a.m. is the groundbreaking for Santikos, Friday, May 18, 2018 10:30
a.m. groundbreaking for their Community Center and on Saturday, May 19, 2018 5th
Annual BBQ Cookoff — Santikos is the main sponsor and all funds raised at this event
will be matched by them or scholarships.
Lastly, Cibolo Youth Alliance Cibolo Summer Nights — The Cibolo Family YMCA and
the City of Cibolo are working on a summer program that would include Friday night
activities throughout the summer of 2018. We are in the beginning phase of this
conversation and would like to welcome participation from several groups in the Cibolo
community. Our goal is to have kids and families out using the new facilities, and have
local groups involved in the Cibolo community. The YMCA will be working with
different local youth organizations to sponsor / host each Friday night activity. The events
will be held at the Cibolo Multi -Event Center for the duration of the program. Each
sponsoring organization, that chooses to host a program, will be responsible for all the
costs associated with that evening. This partnership aims to strengthen the foundation for
the youth in the Cibolo Community.
Mayor Daly recognized Mr. Kevin Hadas who announced Selma's Movie in the Park
Event, Saturday May 12, 2018 Stage Stop Park, featured movie is "Coco" and will begin
at dark. Also, on Thursday May 17, 2018 at the Selma Police Station in observance of
National Police Week, the Selma and Live Oak Police Departments invite you, family
and friends to attend the ceremony honoring those Officers who have paid the ultimate
sacrifice and given their lives in the line of duty.
Mayor Daly recognized Mayor Dennis City of Live Oak who invited everyone to attend
their Memorial Day Parade and Remembrance Walk on Saturday May 26, 2018 10:00

Lastly, Mayor Dennis stated she sits on the CPS Board and they have a wonderful Solar
program if you are building a new house, she can share the information if you are
interested.
Mayor Daly recognized Jacquelin Jackson with the Minority Business Development
Agency — and The Institute for Economic Development at The University of Texas at San
Antonio who announced and passed out flyers regarding a series of seminars, on May 25,
2018 from 9 to 12p.m., hosting a seminar on "Industry 4.0 For Small Business" event
practices, please share this information.
10. Adjournment.
As there was no further business, Mayor Daly adjourned the mee�n at 1 8 p.m.
