HEARING OF RESIDENTS
This time is set -aside for any person who wishes to address the Parks Advisory Board. Each
person should fall out the speaker's register prior to the meeting. Presentations should be limited
to no more than 5 minutes. Discussion by the Board of any item not on the agenda shall be limited
to statements of specific information given in response to any inquiry, a recitation of existing policy
in response to an inquiry, and /or a proposal to place the item on a future agenda. The presiding
officer, during the Hearing of Residents portion of the agenda, will call on those persons who have
signed up to speak in the order they have registered.

1. Minutes — Consideration and/or action regarding the approval of the minutes of the
July 22, 2019 regular meeting.
2. Rhine Valley Park Drainage Easement — Discussion and/or action regarding the
approval of a drainage easement through dedicated public parkland for the Rhine
Valley Unit 3B development. (L. Shrum)
3. Review of FY 18 -19 Parks & Recreation Budget/Project List and FY 19 -20
Budget/Project List — Discussion and /or action regarding the FY 19 -20 Parks &
Recreation Budget Overview and Priority List. (J. Montney, L. Shrum)
4. Update on Current Grants & Funding Sources — Update on GVEC Power UP
Grant, AACOG Funding for Senior Meals, TRAPS /GameTime Playground Grant for
Heritage Oaks Park, and AAMPO Schertz Pedestrian Routes & Bike Lanes Project.

5. CivicREC Overview & Implementation Update — Discussion and /or action

- MMITP — Kicking & Screaming was August 9th
-Adult Dodgeball League began August 28 and ended 9/18
- Paws in the Pool Sept. 7 was a huge hit! 253 people and 199 dogs attended
- CBNP 10 Year Anniversary Celebration Sept. 14 was a success; 75 attended
- Dunkin' for Pumpkins — Saturday Oct. 5 at 5 pm — 8 pm, $5.00 in advance
- Discovery Nature Series: Rocks, Senses & Sediments Saturday Oct. 12, 10 am
-Trunk or Treat Saturday October 26 from 5 -8 pm; trick or treat trail, hayrides,
pumpkin patch pictures, costume contest, & Zombie Laser Tag.
