The City of Schertz Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) Board of Directors met for a
Regular Monthly Meeting on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 6:00 p.m. in the Hal Baldwin
Municipal Complex, Council Chambers, Building No. 4, 1400 Schertz Parkway, Schertz, Texas.
This is an open meeting, subject to the open meeting laws of the State of Texas.

4. Approval of the minutes for the Board of Directors Regular Monthly Meeting held on
Thursday, November 19, 2020. (P. Horan)
A motion to approve the minutes for the Board of Directors Regular Monthly Meeting held on
Ibursday, November 19, 2020 was made by Mr. McDaniel. Seconded by Mr. Richard. Motion
passed unanimously.
Presentations
5. Briefing by staff on SEDC Financial statements for months of October, November, and December
2020. Q. Walters/A. Perez)
Mr. Walters joined the meeting virtually and provided a brief detail of the information as reported:
October - "Sales taxes grew by 11.1% following the upward trend for Schertz. The notable
expenditure for October was the first payment of the Schertz; Services Contract."
November - "Sales taxes grew by 10.5% over the previous November. Expenditures were low for
the month."
December - "Sales taxes grew by 5.5% over the previous December. This quarter saw an additional
$14,500 resulting in audit collections during the first three months. This indicates majority of the
increase was additional sales from existing and new businesses rather than a correction. This month
had the Nexus grant payment of $200,000 as a notable expenditure."

changes to the information included in report.

8. Briefing and possible action on approval of the SEDC Resolution No. 2021-1 authorizing an
agreement of Provisions of Economic Development Services between the State of Texas Comal
County Commissioners Court and the City of Schertz Economic Development Corporation. (A.

A motion to approve the SED C Resolution No. 202 1 -1 authorizing an agreement of Provisions of
and the City of Schertz Economic Development Corporation was made by Mr. Richard. Seconded
• Ms. Morrill. Motion passed unanimously.
