ELECTION BALLOT DRAWING
To ensure the integrity of the ballot drawing, this is the current method the City of
Schertz has implemented. Any questions/concerns/objections should be brought to
our attention immediately.
The first step is to allow each of the candidates to examine the tiles which will be
used. All of these tiles are the same size, and each is numbered from 0 - 50 (51
tiles). Any questions at this point?
They will be placed in a bag.
The drawing of a tile by the candidate is determined by the order of the candidate’s
initial filing date of their respective documents with the city. If a candidate or
representee is NOT present a city staff member will draw for them. If the candidate
or representative retrieve 2 tiles the highest number will be recorded
The candidate with lowest number on the tile, will then provide the position he/she
would like to appear on the voting ballot.
Followed by the next lower number.
I strongly suggest you PLACE your tile facing down until everyone has had the
opportunity to draw a numbered tile. (Your choice)
Note: A brief example would be best to ensure the candidates have no questions or
objections to the process.
