Candidate packets, which include application forms, the election calendar, City Charter, Sign SOP, and other pertinent information, are available online and through the City Secretary's Office. 3 November 3, 2026 General Election Information On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the City of Schertz will hold a General Election for City Council Places 3, 4, and 5. Councilmembers elected will serve a three- year term, commencing in November 2026 and concluding in November 2029. Candidate Eligibility: •Must be a registered voter. •Must be a resident of the City of Schertz. •Must meet all eligibility requirements established by the Texas Election Code. 4 Important Dates Filing for a Place on the Ballot: July 20, 2026 – August 17, 2026. Applications will be accepted Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Ballot Drawing: August 25, 2026, at 9:00 AM in Building 2, Administration Conference Room. Early Voting: October 19, 2026 – October 30, 2026. Locations and times TBD Election Day: November 3, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Locations and Times TBD. Canvassing of the November 3, 2026, General Election: November 16, 2026. 5 General Council Information 6 The City of Schertz typically holds two City Council Meetings per month, on the first and third Tuesdays. Additional meetings, such as Special Meetings and Workshop Meetings, may be scheduled at the Council's discretion. All meetings are publicly advertised, and agendas are posted three days in advance as required. Councilmembers regularly attend the monthly Chamber Luncheon and NEPartnership Meetings and are always invited to Staff and Community Events.
