BOA 03-24-2008 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT MINUTES March 24, 2008 "'" The Schertz Board of Adjustment convened on March 24, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal Complex, Council Chambers, 1400 Schertz Parkway Building #4, Schertz, Texas. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Mr. Hartzog called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. 2. Introduction of new attending staff. HEARING OF RESIDENTS No Citizen comments. 4. Consider and act upon the Board of Adjustment minutes for February 25, 2008. Following reading of the agenda item, Mr. Potempa moved to approve the item. Mr. McQueen seconded the motion. Vote was unanimous. Motion carried. 5. PUBLIC HEARINGS: A. BOA 2008-004-A FM 78 and Mill Street Variance to Article VI, Table VI-B to allow a ten foot (10') reduction in the required 25 foot front yard setback resulting in a minimum front yard setback of 15 feet. B. BOA 2008-004-B FM 78 and Mill Street Variance to Article X, Section 7.2 to allow a reduction in the minimum number of parking spaces required for Retail Sales and Service establishment from six (6) spaces to four (4) spaces. Mr. Rhodes reviewed staff comments and advised the Board that the applicant would not be present and recommended the board table items 5A and 5B. After a discussion between staff and Commissioners, Mr. Potempa moved to table items 5A and 5B. Mr. "- Minutes Board of Adjustment March 24, 2008 Page 1 of2 McQueen seconded the motion. After a short discussion, Mr. McQueen moved to approve the variance request. Mr. Potempa seconded the motion. Voting Aye: Mr. Potempa, Mr. McQueen, and Mr. Hartzog. Voting Nay: Ms. Price. Motion carried 6. ITEMS BY COUNCIL, COMMISSION AND STAFF A. Planning Manager Comments Mr. Rhodes invited the board to sit on the Council Chambers Dias and advised the board that there will be a training session at the next meeting at the request of the City Manager. He stated that he will be working on the by-laws and requested the presence of all members including alternates at the April meeting. ...". B. Planning Commissioner Comments Mr. McOueen: No comments. Mr. Potempa: No comments. Ms. Price: Stated that she is looking forward to the training. Mr. Hartzog: Updated the board on the Library groundbreaking. 7.
