The Schertz Board of Adjustment convened a public hearing on Monday, July 10,2006 at 6:00 p.m. in
the Municipal Complex Council Chambers, Building #4, 1400 Schertz Parkway, Schertz, Texas.

1. CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Hartzog called the meeting to order at 6:15 pm.
2. CITIZEN COMMENTS:
Citizen comments on items other than those listed on this agenda. None

3. PUBLIC HEARING:
The Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing related to variance requests within this agenda.
The public hearing will be opened to receive a report from staff, the applicant, and the adjoining
property owners affected by the applicants request, and any other interested persons. Upon
completion, the public hearing will be closed. The Board will discuss and consider the application,
and may request additional information from staff or the applicant, if required. After deliberation, the
Board will act on the applicant's request

and a 10' x 15' deck encroaching 8 feet into the 20 foot building setback located at 1637 Bench Trail
Lot 37, Block 2 in Oak Trail Estates, Unit 2A
Applicant: Mr. And Mrs. Curtiss Stoller

encroaching 4 feet into the 20 foot building setback located at 1637 Bench Trail Lot 37, Block 2 in
Oak Trail Estates, Unit 2A

Hold a public hearing and consider and act upon a request for a variance for a 10' x 10' shed
encroaching 4 feet into the 10-foot building setback from main structure located at 1637 Bench Trail
(Lot 37, Block 2 in Oak Trail Estates, Unit 2A).
Applicant: Mr. And Mrs. Curtiss Stoller
Chairman Hartzog closed the Public hearing at 6: 10 pm
Mr. Truitt said that staff supported the variance request for the storage shed. Ten (10) letters were
mailed out, 1 letter return mail, 1 letter returned in favor of the patio cover.
Mr. PotemDa made a motion to grant the variance request by Mr. & Mrs. Stoller.
Mr. Dui20n seconded that motion. Vote was unanimous, motion carried

Hold a public hearing and consider and act upon a request for a variance for a 13' x 31' wood patio
cover encroaching 4 feet into the 20 foot rear yard building setback located at 1693 Bear Oak, Lot: 40,
Block: 2 in Oak Trail Estates Subdivision, Unite 2A
Applicant: Mr. And Mrs. Tim D. Gordon
Chairman Hartzog closed the Public hearing at 6:40 pm
Mr. Truitt said that staff supported the variance request for a wooden deck. Ten (10) letters were
"'" mailed out, 1 letter return mail, 1 letter returned in favor of the wooden deck.
Mr. PotemDa made a motion to grant the variance request by Mr. & Mrs. Gordon.
Mr. Dui20n seconded that motion. Vote was unanimous, motion carried

Items for individual consideration are those, which do not require a public hearing, generally require
design related review by staff and which may require conditions for approval. Items and variances
applying to an overall development are considered under this agenda if they are not tied to a zoning
action. Such items, where related applications by the same applicant are included, will be heard
together within the Public Hearing Agenda for the purpose of clarity and review.
