TRANSPORTATION SAFETY ADVISORY COMMISSION
MINUTES
July 12,2007
The Transportation Safety Advisory Commission (TSAC) Convened on Thursday July 12,2007 at
6:30pm in the Schertz Public Works Training Room, 10 Commercial Place, Bldg. 2, Schertz, Texas.
1. Call to order at 6:30 p.m.

2. Introduction of TSAC members
3. Hearing of residents.
Robert Brockman:
Suggests signage reminding drivers to turn on their headlights when they turn on their
windshield wipers.
Realtor sign at new library needs to come down.
4. Approval of Minutes
Motion to Accept June Minutes - Ronald White

5. Discussion and possible action regarding traffic issues at Marilyn and Randolph
proceeding onto Rooster Run in the Kramer Farm Subdivision.
Speed counters were placed at Randolph and Marilyn for eight (8) days. Mr. Little reviewed the
findings. Mr. Scagliola indicated that the traffic issues are actually along Rooster Run in
particular and not on Marilyn. Requested a second study be performed at Rooster Run in front
of playground area.

6. Discussion regarding speed limits on Wiederstein Road.
Don Taylor indicated the speed in question is located between Old Wiederstein and Wiederstein
Roads. Speed Limit is currently 30 mph, requests have been made to increase limit to 35 mph.
Asst. Chief Beverly Todd expressed that 5 mph will not make a difference and suggests to leave
the speed limit at the posted 30 mph.

7. Discussion and possible action regarding article in Schertz Tales.
No article at this time.

8. City Council Update
David Scagliola briefed the commission on the ongoing issues being discussed by City Council,
including updates on redlight cameras, Schertz Auto Center, Lacks and Waters Rescue fees.

9.General discussion items by Commission Members for inclusion on next month's agenda or
items for Public Works Director information and action.
