After determining that a quorum is present, the Board of Adjustment of the City of Schertz, Texas will convene into a
Regular Meeting on Monday, July 28,2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 1400 Schertz Parkway, Building
#4, Schertz, Texas at which the following items will be considered:
1. CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL
2. HEARING OF RESIDENTS
This time is set aside for any person who wishes to address the Board of Adjustment. Each person should fill out the Speaker's register prior
to the meeting. Presentations should be limited to no more than five (5) minutes. The presiding officer, during the Hearing of Residents
portion of the agenda, will call on those persons who have signed up to speak in the order they have registered.
3. Consider and act upon the Board of Adjustment minutes for June 23,2008.
4. PUBLIC HEARINGS:
The Board of Adjustment will hold a public hearing related to variance requests within this agenda. The public hearing will be opened to
receive a report from stafJ. the applicant, and the adjoining property owners affected by the applicants request, and any other interested
persons. Upon completion, the public hean'ng will be closed. The Board will discuss and consider the application, and may request
additional information from staff or the applicant, if required. After deliberation, the Board will act on the applicant's request.
A. BOA 2008-010 2229 Oak Valley
Hold a public hearing and consider approval ofa variance to Article VI, Table VI-A of the Unified
Development Code to allow an eight foot (8') reduction in the required twenty foot (20') rear yard
setback resulting in a minimum rear yard setback of twelve feet (12'). This request for a variance is
to construct a wood deck in the back yard of Lot 30, Block 7 of the Mesa Oaks 2 Subdivision, Unit
#2.
B. BOA 2008-009 A 17650 Four Oaks Lane
Hold a public hearing and consider approval ofa variance to Article IX of the Unified Development
Code (UDC), Section i, relating to the maximum area of a permitted primary wall sign for a
business located on Lot 6, Block 1 of the La Quinta Inn - Schertz subdivision, located on Four Oaks
Lane east ofFM 3009 and being commonly known as 17650 Four Oaks Lane.
C. BOA 2008-009 B 17650 Four Oaks Lane
Hold a public hearing and consider approval ofa variance to Article IX of the Unified Development
Code (UDC), Section i, relating to the maximum area of a permitted secondary wall sign for a
business located on Lot 6, Block 1 of the La Quinta Inn - Schertz subdivision, located on Four Oaks
Lane east ofFM 3009 and being commonly known as 17650 Four Oaks Lane.
