A RESOLUTION # 1026
RANDOLPH1T!lOlroUGHFAREi S~STEM
WHEREAS, the Cities of Converse, Live Oak and Universal City and Randolph
Air Force Base in Bexar County and the Cities of Cibolo and Schertz in Guadalupe
County, which compose the Community Council of the Randolph Subregion, have recog-
nized the need to work collectively to plan, design and build a thoroughfare system
coordinated with the plans of other governmental entities to meet the present and
future needs of the Subregion;
WHEREAS, the purpose of this is to foster the development of the Subregion,
protect the economic potential of Randolph Air Force Base and to coordinate thorough-
fare planning within the Subregion and with the surrounding area;
WHEREAS, these same Cities and Randolph Air Force Base have appointed official
representative to serve for them in the Randolph Subregion Thoroughfare Study Group;
WlIEREAS, in the interest of coordination, liaison with the Thoroughfare Study
Group has been provided by officials and "taff of the State Highway Department, the
San Antonio-Bexar County Urban Transportation Study, Bexar County, Guadalupe County,
the Traffic and Transportation Department of the City of San Antonio, the Alamo Area
Council of Governments and others; and
~~IEREAS, the Thoroughfare Study Group with the authority of the Cities a~d
Randolph Air Force Base has engaged a consultant to prepare a plan and recoIDnlend a
course of action to implement a safe and efficient thoroughfare system for the Sub-
region compatible with surrounding thoroughfare systems; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, tha t the City of Schertz approves, accepts and adopts the reconnnended
plan which has been approved, adopted and recommended by the Randclph Subregion
Thoroughfare Study Group and th" Community Council of the Randolph Subregio',; and he
it further
RESOLVED, that the City of Schertz endorses, commends and supports che princi-

RESOLVED, that the City DE Schertz, consistent with its responsibilities nnd autho~..
ities enc0urages and supports the prompt implementation of the plan by the appropriate
agencies.
