A RESOLUTION
AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THE ATTACHMENT DOCUMENT
OF RESOLUTION NO. 77-R-22 ON VEHICLE POLICY
WHEREAS, Section 3 of the attachment document of Resolu-
tion No. 77-R-22 needs to be clarified, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SCHERTZ, TEXAS:
That Section 3 of the attached document of Resolution
No. 77-R-22 is hereby amended to read:
"3. CONTROL OF VEHICLE USAGE
A. Department heads of the following departments are authorized
to take city vehicles to their residence:
(1) Police Chief
(2) Util ity
B. The standby duty employee in the following departments.. is
authorized to take city vehicles to his/her residence after
regular duty hours:
(1) Utility Department
(2) Parks and Streets
C. The person assigned in the Police Department as Sgt. Investiga-
tor is authorized to take city vehicles to his/her residence.
D. Authorization is limited to those employees who live within
a five (5) mile radius.
E. All vehicle users shall maintain a daily record of vehicle
usage which shall consist of the following data:
(1) Vehicle mileage at start of day.
(2) Vehicle mileage at end of day.
(3) All out of Schertz trips shall be logged with beginning
and ending mileage. Utility vehicles going to well site
or animal control vehicle going to pound will not be
considered "out of town".
F. All vehicle users are reminded that vehicles are furnished to
allow them to better accomplish their job and in no case are to
be considered their vehicle and is not to be used for private
purposes.
G. It is understood that this is a temporary policy and is subject
to study and report in budget study sessions.
