.
. The stats for December were as follows: 18,351 in circulation; 12,236 patrons;
171 in story time attendance; and 2,088 for computer usage. The story time
attendance was down because it was not held the last two weeks of December.
. The Winter Reading Club has started and will include several interesting events
for children. The club is following a CSI theme and will last for six weeks. Nicki
has scheduled a program by the F .B.I., fingerprinting by the Schertz Police Dept.,
and other mystery/crime events. There has been a good response and interest. A
live Clue game is scheduled in February for the conclusion of the reading
program.
. Melissa conducted interviews for the new circulation clerk position. The job was
offered to Sara Molina. She will begin after final city approval.
. Melissa and Nicki will attend the A.L.A. Mid-Winter Conference exhibit and
trade show which will be held Jan. 19-25.
. Surveys will be sent to the public on a different data reporting format. The results
will be then sent to A.L.S. who has requested new reporting features.
. Gail informed the LAB that the $1,000,000 check donated by Eric White had to
be made out to the City of Schertz because we have no record of a 501-C form.
The form is needed for fundraising in order for money to be deposited in the LAB
account. The donation was designated for the Schertz Public Library.
. A strategic planning session will be held on January 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the
conference room at city hall. Gail and Melissa will present details and
