LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
The LAB met in regular session on Monday, January 6. 1992.

The treasurer's report was presented. David moved to accept and Sylvia
seconded. Motion carried. One correction was made: the city has misdirected
$40.33 into some other account--to be located and replaced in our account.

Gail reported:
- Amnesty day on Dec. 27th was successful.
the brunch on Dec. 17th was the best we've had.
the CD ROM came in for $1000.00. She's applied for a grant from D-]O and if she
gets it she'll apFly it towards the encyclopedia on CDROM and put it out for public
access.
the genealogy article in the Recorder generated 10 calls to use the genealogy
room and materials.
the roof leaks quite a bit and Mike has an estimate of $lOOO.O~to come from the
maintenance budget.
she had not heard from !1r. Wiederstein or Mr. Sweatt.
she is still working on the meeting room policy and has several examples that fit
our system from which to formulate our policy.
she has had to place Mona on 30 days probation because of erratic attendance and
neglect of duties.
she spoke at the Lions'Club luncheon about the value of libraries.

NEW BUSINESS:
Annual book sale will be Barch 27, 28. & 29th. Richard will be in charge of signs
in the bookstore one month" before the sale. Gail will notify Alice Austin about.
the water bill message.
- Julie mentioned the bookstore generated $2160 in 1991.
Julie reported we need to post LAB meetings to comply with the Texas Open Mtg.Law.
Gail will post same on the library bulletin board.
